"The Eastern State Penitentiary brings tourists, especially around Halloween. This is a blessing and a curse- sometimes things can get a bit loud- but it’s mostly a blessing and adds to the culture of the neighborhood."

"By bus to center city and then train if I need it. Buses run regularly and I’ve never had an issue catching a bus. They can be crowded during rush hour though. "

"It feels like a suburb within a city (minus the lack of parking). It would be a perfect neighborhood if the parking was better "

"Good schools nearby, a lot of young families in the area, parks nearby for kids to play, streets are safe and quiet, parking is okay- can get tough later at night, might have to walk a few blocks to the house, but overall parking isn’t terrible "

"I've lived in this neighborhod for 30 years and I love it! I used to live in this house many years ago and have watched the neighborhood change over the years. There are many great new restaurants in the area as well as great local events on the parkway and in the many museums nearby including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Eastern State Penitentiary Museum, Barnes, Rodin, etc."

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is probably the most beautiful school building in Philadelphia The walls are marble, the ceilings are high and arched, and there are beautiful statues lining the gorgeous hallways. The students are dazzled by the sheer beauty of their surroundings. The teachers are nice and friendly and they give special attention to students with developmental needs. A lovely school overallOther Review2y ago9 Reviews - Spring Garden Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis preschool is a horrible place for both children and staff. The school is poorly managed and extremely unorganized. The teachers are understaffed and do not have classroom management skills or the resources to fix the situation. Your child will not be taught anything while here. The children are not treated well. Many of the children are violent, aggressive, struggling with developmental disabilities, or extreme behavioral issues. There is no behavioral specialist or special needs services to address this. Children become physically and verbally violent and aggressive with each other and towards teachers. Nothing is done about the behavior and the kids run wild around the school. There is no established system to restrain violent or runaway children, and they can sometimes be mishandled. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE! They will fall behind academically, pick up bad habits and behaviors from others, and mistreated.Parent Review5y ago6 Reviews
