What Locals Say about Clifton Heights

Review Highlights

Clifton Heights buzzes with neighborly charm, walkable perks, and quick rail links to Philly. People like the friendly, family vibe; walkable shops, parks, and rail to the city. They dislike traffic, train noise, iffy transit, high taxes, and weak schools after elementary.

"Every 4th of July there is a parade that happens in the area. Westbrook Park is a great area of Upper Darby and highly desired. There is also a new middle school being built for the area as well so that’s yet another perk for this community. "

  • Trulia User
"You’ll see people walking their dogs all the time. Many dogs are trained and kid friendly if just passing by so no need to be caught off guard in that manner. Much of the time people do pick up after their dogs. I feel like it’s always one offs that you’ll notice someone did not however, I feel they may not be from around the neighborhood really. "
  • Trulia User
"Train runs through the neighborhood and has two stations. There is also 2 bus routes near the area. The city is a 30 min drive do to traffic but not too bad "
  • Trulia User

  • Trulia User
"Everyone seems to take care of there own dogs. The only time I see loose dogs ì if they happened to get out of their yard or off their leash. All of the dog owners I have met are friendly. "

"Nothing. Neighbors barely speak, very few kids come out for trick-or-treating, and there are no neighborhood events. "
  • Kshitiz S.
"Safe and good feeling while walking. Nearby YMCA. Several parks and good grocery stores. Nearby tennis courts. "
  • Austintgeiffjn
"Cops are nice but give out petty fines very liberally. Bad neighborhoods are very close. Don’t leave anything in your vehicle at all. Police get bored and fill time time with fines...parking with driver side to curb , trash not put out on time or too early or cans out too long, grass more than 3” leaves not cleared, loud public transit, train horns, fire company alarms for curfew and other meaningless things, a lot of traffic , very high taxes"
  • Ashley I.
"The school district definitely isn’t what it used to be and the taxes are high for nothing. The elementary school is great but after that, I’d look to move to a different district. "
  • Bree.capone

"4th of July fireworks, Food truck events, carnival. Seems that they constantly have something 👍🏻 I like our Facebook page, keep everyone in the know of lost pets, and other things locally. Losing power, when it comes back up. Neighborly advise or rants. Great location for restaurants, pizza and sub places. Pharmacy is just around the corner and 7-eleven. "
  • Shinobiats
"Quite peaceful neighborhood. Close to access roads and transportation. 10 minutes away from the airport and major highways. "
  • Cliftonian
"I’ve lived here for almost 15 years and it’s a nice community. It’s a central point to everything... train to the city is just 3 blocks from my house, trolley a block away that take you anywhere from Collingdale to 69th street. Within 2 minutes you can be at Rite Aid, Clam Tavern, Romarcos restaurant, K-Mart, Walt’s pizza and like 4 other pizza places, 7 food places, 4 diners, Home Depo, Acme, Giant. And that’s just thinking on top of my head. It’s a Great location! Also, very family and kid oriented, have sports for kids with great coaches! "
  • David R.

"I've lived in Clifton Heights since October 2012. it has its issued issues but I've come to like the area"
  • Amanda T.
"It’s fairly safe. Traffic sucks, trains ruin everything. The trains interrupt the traffic flow on the street. Seems like the area wasn’t built to accommodate the population size of today."
  • Miranda4950
