"Parents should know that this is not a good place to raise children unless you can afford a $3 million dollar condo in some highrise downtown that has private parking, gated access, and security on the premises at all times."

"The best park in SF. You can reach the beach biking through the park without sharing the street with cars. "

"I live on the west side of the western addition closer to nopa and pandhandle. It has been my favorite neighborhood in my 7 years in the city. Centrally located with a sunny and friendly neighborhood vibe. "

"It’s very central to all things outdoors in SF. GG park, panhandle, crissy field, ocean beach, Presidio. Just at the edge before it becomes the Richmond which has easier parking for shopping like target "

"Great commute! Buses every 5 min during peak hours into town. And there’s often space to sit. Mainly commuters/workers so feeling more safe than other routes. "

"Forner Jazz district and once considered the Harlem of the west now teeming with boutique retail shops and trendy cuisines it remains one of the more diverse neighborhoods in the city. This was once home to London Breed where she served as a diligent supervisor before ascending office and becoming SF’s first female African American Mayor."

"the area is so windy. I'm not a dog owner so I don't have to much to say about that, but it seems like they are happy because there are a lot of dogs in my community."

"We are walking distance to many different neighborhoods which gives us many options for food and shops. I am pretty close to Japantown and the Fillmore area. I like having 24 hour access to public transportation and that my commute to downtown on the bus is only 10 mins. There are also many trees that line the streets in this area."

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent both my boys to Creative Arts and am thankful for the education they received. They both emerged as thoughtful, confident, and independent thinkers. The project-based learning kept them very engaged. As high-school students, I see their ability to think abstractly and holistically about a situation, problem, or challenge — which they gained from their time at Creative Arts Charter School. The community that we experienced as a family is very involved and welcoming. And we appreciate the school's approach to inclusion and diversity. My only critique is I see some inconsistency with how teachers are held accountable to uphold the standard of education compared to some others.I would most certainly recommend considering CACS, especially if you feel your child would benefit from a project-based learning environment.Parent Review2y ago - Parks (Rosa) Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is in JBBP (Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program)'s 2nd grade and she loves the school! I agree 100% with other parents' comments that Rosa Parks is a very inclusive and supportive community with true diversity. Social justice is one of the key values they teach (you can tell from the school name) and even at the kindergarten the children learn about various aspects of it.Additionally, I highly recommend Rosa Park's JBBP as a Japanese family. When we were looking for the school for my daughter, Rosa Parks' JBBP looked stunning! They have a Japanese class everyday with a native Japanese teacher, and not only the language itself, there are a lot of fun cultural events throughout the year. It is super cool to see all the children - regardless of a family connection with Japan - learn Japanese and have fun together. I feel so lucky we were able to get a spot in Rosa Park's JBBP.Parent Review2y ago - KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHigh academics. Low social emotional support. Way to strict. Very demeaning discipline tactics. Using the paycheck and the "bench" constantly. Teachers screaming, yelling, and demeaning children in front of the class. My child came home sobbing daily. As a parent I felt ignored and disregarded:( I dreaded taking him/her and prayed every day I picked him/her up. So glad I pulled him/her out. She/he couldn't be happier. Even though his/her was on honor roll the entire time...Parent Review10y ago - San Francisco Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSFDS has been a fantastic experience for our child. The teaching, individual development, resources, mix in subjects (including a fantastic art and math/science program), and size of classes and ratio to teachers has been exactly what our son needed! There is both academic challenge and early academic support (for reading and writing) and kids feel a real sense of community here. Parents are warm and laid back (although there is a bit of a culture of affluence here, not showy, but it is a bit of a bubble). Lots of visible diversity in the lower years which we were looking for.Parent Review8y ago - Weill (Raphael) Children Center
