"The neighborhood is sandwiched between the Church and Van Ness muni stops, so transit is always close by. "
  • Neighbor resident
"Lots of traffic, so be careful. Conveniently near grocery stores. Some homeless with drug/mental issues around"

"Many people have dogs. Duboce Park is close so it’s easy to have a dog here. Sidewalks are wide, people are friendly and pro dog. "

"Friendly, neighborly and close to everything. And I love the architecture. You couldn’t pick a better place in SF to live. "
  • Kelsey S.
"Many of the cities best bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as very conveniently located for getting around with easy highway and interstate access. "

"It's just a quick hop and a skip to some of the cities best districts from this very central location located at its heart: the Mission, Hayes Valley, the Haight, downtown, SOMA and the Castro. Buildings that seem to belong to homeowners rather than rental property management groups are kept up well. Some downsides include: air quality, which is just OK due to proximity to high traffic thoroughfares; shattered glass from burgled vehicles' windows -- a regular sight."

"I've lived here for two years now and absolutely live the proximity to everything. Muni, BART and street cars are all here with easy access to the highway for drives. Mission, Hayes Valley and Castro are within walking distance as are Dolores and Duboce parks. The downside is the homeless population. The Octavia ontamp provides a haven for junkies. They defecate, urinate and leave their dirty needles all around the neighborhood. It's become such a problem that houses on our street won't sell. On Thursdays, when needle exchanges happen in the neighborhood, it's even worse. 311 is great at responding in a couple days to the needles and feeces but that means it's on your street in front of your children and your pets for a couple days. "

"I used to live on this street- very noisy and many transients. My car was broken into twice. Lots of noisy kids in the street. "
