"My city is diverse and full of life. There are some places that are…not so desirable and some that are absolutely perfect for families and those looking for a more quiet setting. It’s the best of everything in one "
  • Alper Bayrakdar
"I would not let kids play on quite street cause sone drivers still won’t slow down. But gg and panhaddle are nice parks to spend time "
  • Trulia User
"Parents should know that this is not a good place to raise children unless you can afford a $3 million dollar condo in some highrise downtown that has private parking, gated access, and security on the premises at all times."
  • Trulia User
"there are cultural festivals, park meet-ups, rec soccer tournaments, farmers markets, and Volunteer opportunities around the area. "

  • Skyler R.
"I live on the west side of the western addition closer to nopa and pandhandle. It has been my favorite neighborhood in my 7 years in the city. Centrally located with a sunny and friendly neighborhood vibe. "
  • Businessw6
"It’s very central to all things outdoors in SF. GG park, panhandle, crissy field, ocean beach, Presidio. Just at the edge before it becomes the Richmond which has easier parking for shopping like target "
  • "Alamo Square Park is close and has a dog free run area for dogs! People bring their pups there to hang out."
  • Paroma C.

"I hate taking the bus, traffic and parking is horrible so the bus or Uber is your best bet . Pretty close to everything "
  • Jeff P.
"There are many buses is close by, but there is no train access. However the buses are regular, and fairly quick."

"Forner Jazz district and once considered the Harlem of the west now teeming with boutique retail shops and trendy cuisines it remains one of the more diverse neighborhoods in the city. This was once home to London Breed where she served as a diligent supervisor before ascending office and becoming SF’s first female African American Mayor."
  • Dayne1213
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for about 6 years. I love it. I have a small child and it’s great for us. "
  • Ana K. B.
"the area is so windy. I'm not a dog owner so I don't have to much to say about that, but it seems like they are happy because there are a lot of dogs in my community."
  • Tsaowan
"Good weather, good restaurants, walk to several movie theaters, grocery stores close by including Safeway, a Korean market, Japanese markets, & an Indian market. Close to work in the Civic Center."
  • Renee F.
"I've lived in Nopa for almost a year. Everyone in my building is friendly and helpful (and most are dog owners). It's common to see lots of people out for walks with their kids or dogs. I live across the street from Green Chile Kitchen and diagonal from Matching Half cafe. Both are great restaurants and bring in many to our community. This neighorhood is very transit-friendly - close to the 5, 21, & 31, and it is a 15 min walk to the Duboce Park muni station. And, I love that I can walk to Castro, Alamo Square, the Haight, and Golden Gate Park! In addition, we are close to the Divisadero shops and restaurants and within walking distance to the Trader Joe's/Target off Masonic."
  • "This is a great neighborhood that is just starting to come into it's own/ Alamo Square is awesome and a geat place to hang out or bring your pup. Yummy restaurants and cute shops on Divis. "
