"My city is diverse and full of life. There are some places that are…not so desirable and some that are absolutely perfect for families and those looking for a more quiet setting. It’s the best of everything in one "

"Parents should know that this is not a good place to raise children unless you can afford a $3 million dollar condo in some highrise downtown that has private parking, gated access, and security on the premises at all times."

"The best park in SF. You can reach the beach biking through the park without sharing the street with cars. "

"I live on the west side of the western addition closer to nopa and pandhandle. It has been my favorite neighborhood in my 7 years in the city. Centrally located with a sunny and friendly neighborhood vibe. "

"It’s very central to all things outdoors in SF. GG park, panhandle, crissy field, ocean beach, Presidio. Just at the edge before it becomes the Richmond which has easier parking for shopping like target "

"Great commute! Buses every 5 min during peak hours into town. And there’s often space to sit. Mainly commuters/workers so feeling more safe than other routes. "

"Forner Jazz district and once considered the Harlem of the west now teeming with boutique retail shops and trendy cuisines it remains one of the more diverse neighborhoods in the city. This was once home to London Breed where she served as a diligent supervisor before ascending office and becoming SF’s first female African American Mayor."

"the area is so windy. I'm not a dog owner so I don't have to much to say about that, but it seems like they are happy because there are a lot of dogs in my community."

"I've lived in Nopa for almost a year. Everyone in my building is friendly and helpful (and most are dog owners). It's common to see lots of people out for walks with their kids or dogs. I live across the street from Green Chile Kitchen and diagonal from Matching Half cafe. Both are great restaurants and bring in many to our community. This neighorhood is very transit-friendly - close to the 5, 21, & 31, and it is a 15 min walk to the Duboce Park muni station. And, I love that I can walk to Castro, Alamo Square, the Haight, and Golden Gate Park! In addition, we are close to the Divisadero shops and restaurants and within walking distance to the Trader Joe's/Target off Masonic."

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school needs a new approach to what theyre doing, a lot of what I see as a parent feels very ingenuine. Also this school tends to attract a lot of social warriors who make small comments about other parents who cant contribute as much as they can. Rememebr that volunteering and family engagement signifies the family is privileged enough to do so, but it feels like the familes who do contribute are superior to the rest. Also, the demographics of the school doesnt reflect that of the city so when they talk about social justice and wanting to promote that, yet the school does the bare minimum when it comes to outreach to recruit students for a better diverse student body, you wonder, does the school really care or are they just putting up good looking signs for ppl to see? Lastly, the test scores tell the story. Theres a obvious disparity between demographics so that begs the question of if the teachers are teaching? or is it just the parents or privileged kids who tend to pass, because only the white kids appear to be passing the state tests. Compare the statistic to other schools in the district or KIPP, New School, it seems Creative Arts isnt doing as good of a jobParent Review8mo ago47 Reviews - Parks (Rosa) Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe had an absolutely phenomenal TK experience at Rosa Parks. I initially had hesitations because of the school ratings, but after learning more about how heavily those metrics can reflect socioeconomic factors rather than the full quality of a school experience, we decided to give it a chance—and I’m so glad we did.Teacher Daney, Ms. Andreena, (and Mika Sensei as part of the JBBP program) and all the teachers we interacted with were truly incredible. Our kids were supported, cared for, and excited to go to school every day. This is after being with me for 3 years as a stay at home mom and very very against going to school. The TK program exceeded our expectations in every way. I was also consistently impressed by the administration—The Principal, Ms. Sno, and Assistant Principal (Ms. Sogo) were constantly present on the yard, and actively involved in the school community in a way that felt genuine and hands-on. I feel like it was incredibly rare to not see Ms. Sno and I appreciated her boots on the ground type of mentality. In my school days, the administration sat in their offices the entire day so it was really nice to see her super involved. We ultimately left for a shorter commute, but we were incredibly impressed with Rosa Parks and remain very grateful for our experience there.Parent Review2mo ago26 Reviews - KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStaff turnover at KIPP schools in general is very high. There's a reason for that. They don't value their employees at all. And there are numerous instances I can remember of kids needs being outright ignored. AOther Review11mo ago7 Reviews - San Francisco Day School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSFDS has been a fantastic experience for our child. The teaching, individual development, resources, mix in subjects (including a fantastic art and math/science program), and size of classes and ratio to teachers has been exactly what our son needed! There is both academic challenge and early academic support (for reading and writing) and kids feel a real sense of community here. Parents are warm and laid back (although there is a bit of a culture of affluence here, not showy, but it is a bit of a bubble). Lots of visible diversity in the lower years which we were looking for.Parent Review10y ago3 Reviews - Weill (Raphael) Children Center
