"I don’t know. I guess it is near the beach. Which is good for dogs. We have cats. But dog owners who don’t pick up are common here. "

"Nice neighbours. Street parking is difficult but the area is pedestrian friendly. There are a lot of coyotes coming from the park and little dogs and cats have attacked "

"Tight knit community. People know their neighbors. Fun local spots to eat/hang. Family friendly. Block parties and small business supported community events. Lots of parks plus the beach is so close! "

"I drive now, but I took public transportation and Muni when I was a kid. I didn't mind taking the Muni trains, and I still occasionally do when I go downtown. I do think the cost of public transportation is outrageous. If I'm not going downtown, I travel everywhere else in the vicinity by motor vehicle."

"It’s used to be a neighborhood for dogs except that when they closed The Great Highway it pushed a lot of traffic onto the residential streets and it’s not as safe anymore. "

"Great area for dog owners! There’s Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, Sunset Blvd, the Great Highway, and Fort Funston- all good places to walk your dog. Just be aware that there are Coyotes and to be cautious. Usually not a threat to other dogs."

"This neighborhood is very quiet and safe feeling. We do not know any of our neighbors, which I wish was otherwise. The Sunset Reservoir Recreation Center is amazing - playground, gymnasium, tennis courts, basketball courts, community center, clean restrooms - it is such an asset to the community "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel incredibly grateful that my child attended Holy Name School. After K-5 in public school, I wish we'd enrolled sooner--the academic rigor and life skills taught here have been invaluable. The teachers truly care about the kids, and we've experienced a level of individualized attention that's rare these days. They emphasize organization, challenge each child to reach their full potential, and help prepare them for high school. As a religiously agnostic family, we appreciate that the Catholic component is flexible: Catholic students can delve deeper, while families like ours can engage at a level that's comfortable and still learn a lot. I'm not usually one to volunteer at schools, but the supportive community inspired me to help with events and projects. We've also made great friends through the school. Of course, each class has its own mix of students and parents, and we were lucky to have an awesome group.I'm so grateful my child attended middle school here--those years can be tough, and having a school that helps kids become the best version of themselves within such a supportive community is more than any parent could ask for.Parent Review9mo ago33 Reviews - St. Gabriel Elementary School

If you want to try it out, recommend going to 5-week summer school program, which is open to all students. Wonderful fit for my child. Grateful to be there.Parent Review13y ago9 Reviews
