On the western edge of San Francisco, Outer Sunset is a quiet neighborhood that borders the Pacific Ocean.

It’s organized in an orderly grid of east-west streets in alphabetical order and north-south streets in numerical order.

Where once there were sand dunes known simply as “the Outside Lands,” now there are seemingly endless rows of colorful two-story homes.

Outer Sunset ends at Ocean Beach, where locals come to surf, fish, and take refuge from the rare hot San Francisco day.
