"They will like that there are many dog friendly parks within walking distance. They will not like that the streets can be trashy and that is hazardous for dogs to walk on. "

"I’ve lived here for two year and really like it. I love the street art and there’s tons of good restaurants. The mission is usually sunnier and warmer than the rest of San Francisco so you can make use of its many parks."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe had such high hopes for this school, but unfortunately our experience was incredibly horrible. Our son attended the elementary school for 2 years, and did not learn anything during this time. And by anything, I mean he did not advance a single grade level and actually regressed. In fact, on the last day when we brought home his school supplies, his notebooks were completely empty. This should have been a red flag for us, but we hung in there and tried again for a second year thinking it would get better. Since leaving the school, he has advanced significantly and is performing at or above his grade level. KMS is progressive (which is one reason why we fell in love with it in the first place) and allow the children to choose what they want to learn. This all sounds great, however in actuality the children are left for themselves to roam the school building doing whatever they please. If they don't want to do work, they don't have to do any work. The teachers do not have control over the classes and the children run the show (I have seen this first hand.) There is nothing good about KMS elementary school. The preschool and after school care works well because they basically are just babysitters for your children. If you want your children to actually learn something at school, this place is not for you.Parent Review5y ago18 Reviews - Synergy School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was in eighth grade class last year(2024)It was nothing compared to my elementary school; which was amazing. Here, they do barely any of the things they say on the website. They support girls more than boys, have like 51/52 percent of white kids. They barely celebrate any cultural traditions that would actually be fun. We had LOADS of homework; that became overwhelming. They have NO special education, for kids who need real support. I dreaded going to school everyday; since I was there since fourth grade; and fourth grade was the only best year I had there. There was bullying last year, and no teacher or staff helped the student at the moment. We went to Puerto Rico for school and it was okay; it could have been better. Too hard of math, history, and science. I have seen many kids share food with each other which they are not supposed to(allergies); and no adult sees it and stops it. Would NOT recommend this school, it is terrible; do not waste your time and money. If you want a calm and safe, nice learning environment for your kid(s); then this school is NOT for you. I am warning you.Other Review1y ago28 Reviews - La Scuola International School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe chose La Scuola three years ago for its combination of warmth and strong academics. I toured a lot of K-8 schools and the warmth and personality of La Scuola stood out. Dig a little further and I was impressed by the International Baccalaureate program and language immersion. I have to say we haven't been disappointed. Our child loves the school and is always happy. I have been hugely impressed by the teaching standards and communication. Just fyi, we have no Italian at home and love that our child is learning the language and will take on Spanish in the coming years. Great enrichment program and aftercare for all (if desired). I can't recommend the school enough.Parent Review7mo ago48 Reviews
