"Lots of great shots and restaurants. The mission is the heart of the city. Yes it can be gritty at times, but if you want to live in a truest multicultural community with everything you could want and need in easy walking distance it doesn’t get much better."

"It’s very neighborhoody. Everyone knows each other. I feel a strong sense of community here. San Francisco is changing a lot, but Potrero Hill still has old-school vibes. "

"It is easy to commute out of the city but still very easy to get around the city as well. The neighborhood is quiet, except for the freeway noise, but it is a small price to pay for the convenience. "

"The view of the city is the best because we're on a hill. I like the basketball tournaments and BBQs at the park. Sometimes it can be a very unsafe place."

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for almost a year. It’s quiet, residential, lovely for a introspective walk. Beautiful views of the city. Close enough to the city, and great if You want close access but not to be in the center of it all."

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe want to share our experience to help other parents considering Daniel Webster Elementary. Our child was exposed to hostile comments from multiple staff members, and peer bullying happens frequently. The school took very little action to address these problems, and our concerns were often dismissed or ignored. Many staff, including teachers and noon monitors, frequently raise their voices at students, creating a tense and intimidating environment. Teachers appear disengaged, and there is little communication or accountability when problems occur. The new principal does not show the same level of care or leadership that we’ve seen at other schools—she rarely checks in or follows up on student issues. The overall environment feels unstructured and poorly managed, almost as if no one is truly in charge. Our child often felt anxious and unsafe while at school.Although the school advertises a “wellness center,” it seems to exist mainly to take funding from parents to pay staff, rather than providing meaningful support for students’ emotional well-being.Parent Review7mo ago48 Reviews - King (Starr) Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has had two kids go through Starr King Elementary School. They both enjoyed learning and making friends here. The teachers are dedicated, caring, and do well at their job. I’m impressed with the principal and her leadership in improving all areas of the school. There is great attention to improving the GE program and balancing out inequities. The YMCA-run afterschool program is great.Parent Review2y ago28 Reviews - Seneca Center

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can not believe how lucky we are to have a school like this in San Francisco. My son loves it so much, he takes pride in learning academically and culturally and being with his peers. I wish it didn't end at 6th grade. What a wonderful community of family.Parent Review8y ago3 Reviews - Live Oak School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have a first grader at Live Oak, and it has been a wonderful experience. Her teachers understand her well, thanks to the co-teaching model where they have two experienced lead teachers in a classroom. We love the small group and individualized instructions, focus on social emotional learning and critical thinking, excellent music and arts program, and high academic standards. We are happy to see our daughter growing into a kind, engaged and hard working girl who loves to go to school everyday. The school community is warm and down-to-earth. Lunch is included in the tuition and fantastic - healthy, organic food that is cooked from scratch everyday.Parent Review1y ago36 Reviews
