What Locals Say about Peralta Heights

  • Wendytestu
"There are lots of dogs in the neighborhood & 2 dog parks. Bernal heights & Precita park. It’s a neighborhood full of families, kids & dogs. "
  • Wendytestu
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 20 years & love the village feel of it. Bernal hill has fantastic views & the Mission is so close it makes it easy to go out for dinner or go for a hike up to the top of the hill. It’s quiet & very neighborly. Our daughter went to school at Leonard Flyyn elementary, she’s walked in the neighborhood by herself since she was in 4th grade. "
  • Trulia User
"The Bernal Heights dog park is just a 10 minute walk up the hill & Precita Park is at the bottom of the hill, it also allows dogs. There are also numerous secret gardens & paths to walk on with the dogs."
  • BernalGirl
"Open space, community gardens and friendly neighbors! Walking distance to Precita Park and a $5.00 Uber ride to the Mission. It’s Bernal people not Bernal Wood! SF native"
  • Gilda T.
"I have lived here for 57 years, since I was a small child. I love the weather, the views, the gardens and parks, the hills and stairs, the birds and butterflies, and the peaceful ambience."
  • "Quickly gentrified but still has working-class vibe. Too hilly to be classified as walkable but so close to the action of vibrancy "
