"Some days there is bad traffic and others it’s smooth. I find that compared to other cities it’s decent. I would describe my commute as fair compared to living in Portsmouth or Norfolk or Virginia Beacb. My commute is anywhere from 5 minutes to 35 minutes from my place of residence. That’s all I would say. "

"There are always dogs being walked and playing in the field by my apartment with their owners. It is a very dog friendly area and the owners are polite and kind and courteous of other dogs as well as people who live around here without dogs. "

"There are no events at our apartment complex or the 2 next to ours. The mall is dieing. I do love the craft fair at the park. I hope next year it is bigger with more information on what our city has to offer. I miss the pow wows the park had. it is a good reminder of the Native American heritage. "

"Although there are areas to play between our patios and the white sticks indicating the golf course property, children do not play back there. The only time I’ve ever seen children play in the area that is available and allowed is wintertime when snow is on the grounds."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo glad we move here from our country and have our children in Greenbrier Primary school. The people are very good like family and help with our language and help in everything we need to find. The teachers call and say how good our children are doing too.Parent Review8mo ago20 Reviews - Veritas Collegiate Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe enrolled our child at Veritas Collegiate Academy in the early years, and we stayed because it quickly became clear that this was a safe and steady place for growth. From the beginning, our child was known by name, welcomed with care, and encouraged to grow in confidence within a structured and supportive environment.Over the years, we have appreciated the consistency of the school’s expectations and culture. The academics are thoughtful and challenging, but they are held within classrooms that are calm, orderly, and kind. Teachers genuinely care about their students and take their role seriously, paying attention to both academic progress and character formation. Our child has been encouraged to listen attentively, grow in responsibility, and take on leadership and service in age-appropriate ways. This emphasis on maturity and contribution has helped our child develop self-control, confidence, and a sense of purpose at school. The work is meaningful and does require consistent effort, and we have spent many evenings working through assignments together, which has helped our child build strong habits and confidence. One of the greatest strengths of Veritas is its sense of community. Many families remain at the school for years, creating a feeling of continuity that allows children to grow up together in a way that feels increasingly rare. New families are welcomed naturally and supported as they find their place, which adds to the community rather than changing its character. We have also appreciated the school’s attentiveness to everyday needs. Teachers communicate clearly and respond thoughtfully, helping students feel supported and understood within the classroom.Veritas Collegiate Academy is not a perfect or effortless school, but it is a good and faithful one. We believe God clearly led our family to this school, and it has been exactly what we needed. We are deeply grateful for this place and the people who make it what it is.Parent Review3mo ago12 Reviews - Greenbrier Enrichment Center

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and parents are very stuck up. Most of the students that attend come from wealthy families. The ones that don’t are looked at very differently.
