"I’ve lived here for a few months, and so far it’s pretty nice, neighbors wave as you pass, people look out for each other, well maintained. It’s cool."

"Rough. 45 minutes to go 20 miles. 75 minutes in the evening. It’s not LosAngeles, but it’s not good. Not enough water crossings the number of commuters. "

"Great to walk around the block, and if you need a longer walk, the nearby park offers some good paths to walk around. The park gets used a lot, so on some weekends in the summer, there may be large groups who've rented the cabanas, if your dog is ok with that, no problems, if your dog is skittish around many people, then choose different times. Trash bags, and doggie bags available at the park."

"I’ve lived in Kempsville since 2015, and it’s always been a nice quiet area. There’s some restaurants about a mile down the road, and the traffic doesn’t get as bad as other parts of town. "

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTallwood is a great school. Both my boys loved it. Teachers wonderful and they take care of ALL students. Tallwood has “0” tolerance for bullying. The teachers build a bond with the students and as a parent when I leave my boys in the care of the school, I expect my boys to be able to feel safe, respected, and learning their work. And all of that applies with Tallwood.Parent Review4y ago7 Reviews - Atlantic Shores Christian School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAtlantic Shores used to be a really good school. Within the past year, there has been a huge turnover in teaching staff. One teacher assigned to teach math admitted math was not her strong suit. There is no set curriculum especially where math is concerned. The homework is all over the place with no foundation to build upon. Class size is the same as in public school, with 20 or more kids per class. The room assignments are also biased. All advanced or those close to being advanced are placed in one class while those that are not are in another. When my child or others asked for help, they were constantly being told they should already know it. So they were left to figure it out. The school says that bullying is not tolerated. Our child had a melt down and the teacher began to imitate our child. Our child asked the teacher to stop to which the teacher replied "that's how you're acting so I'm going to act just like you." This was condoned by the principal to which she stated " well, yes, that's what some of the teachers do to show the child how they are acting." Of course it just made the situation worse. We were also told, because our child had been diagnosed with certain mental illnesses (none of which prevented her from learning and achieving principals honor roll every year), maybe she would be better off in a school with kids just like her. This coming from a private christian school! All I can say is Atlantic Shores has been a lesson learned.Parent Review9y ago7 Reviews - New Light Baptist School Of Excellence

She loves going to school and learning. Dispute the negative reviews, this is no doubt a school of Christian disciplines.Parent Review4y ago6 Reviews - Childtime on Kempsville Road
