"I've lived here for 2 years and went to school here for 4 years previously. In comparison to other major cities, it's definitely more clean and maintained. Room for improvement, but still better than New York and LA."

"This is a very heavy dog neighborhood, which is nice, but very populated during walks. Unfriendly/ reactive dogs might have a difficult time going on a longer walk without running into fellow dog owners."

"Tons of dog-friendly parks and green spaces, but none that are specifically for dogs (that I know of). There also aren’t many pet supply stores in the area that aren’t specialty pet stores. High population density though, so there are plenty of potential dog walkers and dog friends to be made."

"I lived here for 10 years and it's been a wonder to see the neighborhood grow and develop while still maintaining it's creative, youthful, tightknit community feel. Super walkable/bikeable with a substantial selection of small grocery stores, divey bars, upscale speakeasies, and restaurants. More and more chains are coming through, but the vibe is still there. Also super convenient in terms of public transit to get you downtown and the highway is nearby for anywhere else you'd want to go."

"Logan square has great public transportation as there’s buses on all main roads. The blue line train station is right in the heart of Logan Square which you can use to transfer to any other train station in the city. "

"Transit is a 30-40 minute hop to the Loop or O'Hare, interstate access is close by so driving time is about half that. Metra stations are close by and the access to interstates makes getting to west and north suburbs easy, but getting to far southern suburbs can be tricky. there are some decent, and some amazing bike paths so I use those whenever possible. Honestly though, I love Logan/Humboldt and wouldn't mind if I never left."

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe’ve been so happy with our son’s experience at Chase. Amazing teachers, amazing dual language Spanish program and perhaps one of the most impressive principles I’ve ever met. Families are super involved and we’ve been very lucky to have such a close community to build our life around. It’s slightly smaller than some of the other schools around like Goethe or Pulaski but we find that it makes the community much more tighten it, and there are more resources per student.Parent Review1mo ago5 Reviews - Darwin Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo not send your children here, everything is “GREAT” until your child has an issue or you want to address something. Principal and Assistant Principal will refuse to address the problem and turn you away. We have transferred our daughters out of here immediately. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school fails to meet basic expectations. The principal is unresponsive and lacks accountability, and several teachers show little engagement or follow-through. Concerns are routinely delayed or ignored, and students do not receive the support they need. It’s concerning that even the principal’s own children attend other schools, which raises questions about confidence in the environment he leads. Leadership sets the tone, and here it is failing families and children. Significant changes are needed before I could recommend this school.Parent Review2mo ago24 Reviews - Monroe Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been accepted into the pre-school program, and thus far, this has been a terrible experience. I'm interested in the dual language program, and every time I call to inquire, I receive a different answer regarding how to get him enrolled in this program. At first, I was told that it's first-come, first-served, so the sooner I complete the registration documents, the better chance my son will have. Then I was told it's a lottery system. And now I'm being told that the dual language program coordinator will reach out to me to setup a meeting to assess my son, and that she's calling people now, but I may not hear from her until the end of August. I'm just not sure I believe anything they're telling me, and it's an unbelievably stressful and convoluted situation. This school is so poorly ranked to begin with that I almost never bothered applying at all, and now I'm really questioning what type of experience my son would have here, if this is how they treat people.Parent Review1y ago23 Reviews - Mozart Elementary School
