"Tons of dogs! Great neighborhood to have dogs as there’s so much space to take walks and a nice local dog park. Streets are plenty wide for dogs who are a bit more reactive too, so you can pretty easily avoid others if needed."

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an alumni of Avondale Logandale and a current teacher I have seen the school go through an amazing transformation over the past 15 years! The teachers and the staff are very dedicated to ensuring that their students are successful! The school offers so many opportunities for students that was not offered when I went to the school. The school itself has become avid certified which means that all teachers and staff are trained to teach your child strategies on how to be organized and be college and career ready. The school also offers a dual language program in English and Spanish, as well as fine arts classes such as theater, art, chorus, band, and sewing classes. The school also offers many sports programs in football, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, etc. Come and check out Avondale Logandale elementary school to give your child the best education Avondale/Logan Square has to offer!Teacher Review2y ago - Linne Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is all about the students. Ms. Irizarry will put anything in the line to do what it's best for the children. Most of the staff is very approachable and knowledgeable. Every school should be like this first and then we focus on the performance, which by the way, have been constantly improving for the last 5 years...Other Review8y ago - Garcia Lorca Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent my child loves this school, great caring, patient, and excited teachers. They have great after school programs. I’m grateful this school and the staff has made my child love coming to school everyday, I will have to suggest one thing, security needs to be more strict on who enters the school they monitor who’s buzzing the doorbell but they never ask why or for what matter before opening the door. I do wish they had more security and better trained security. Specially when school is starting and during dismissal. Please take this comment into consideration.Parent Review5y ago - St Hyacinth Basilica School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children who have been attending to this school for 3 years. I am very happy with the results. The math program is outstanding, my son is in 2nd grade and learning multiplication, in a fun way. The teachers are always there if we have any questions or concerns. The principal is one of the nicest most caring person towards children and parents, she checks to make sure that classes and parents are all doing well. Her doors are always open for parents who have concerns and is on top of things. The 3rd grade teacher is amazing, she likes to keep in close contact with parents. I am very happy with the results, coming from a public school, where my children did not learn very much. My son learned to read and write perfectly in Kindergarten, where as my daughter did not learn that at the public school when she was in Kindergarten. I highly recommend this school, it has been the best desicion I've made regarding my childrens' education. Thank you St. Hyacinth!Parent Review10y ago
