"Easy it’s to the loop like 25 minutes in the morning and 30-45 after work. Also about the same if traveling to northern burbs."

"I don't currently live in Lakeview. the app is asking me for a review of a place where it thinks I live. please fix because this can skew results and it gets in the way of the user "

"I have lived here for 5 years and it’s honestly the best area in chicago for families. I work pretty late and it’s still very safe to walk my dog at 1 in the morning "

"Great neighborhood with lots of places to walk too. Traffic can be brutal but it’s manageable if you know when to drive or not "

"The best events North Center offers are its Farmers' Market in the summers, and the Rib Fest at the beginning of June. They also just built up a pedestrian square between Damen and Lincoln, which has tons of space to spread out and relax."

"Streets are typically multilaned, which is always helpful when commuting. Always a great call for traveling to and from work quickly!"

"The June Rib Fest is always great, and so is the new North Center gathering plaza, just north of Irving Park between Lincoln and Damen, which holds the weekly Farmers' Market every Saturday morning."

"Easy commute - close to LSD and many walking distance El stations to access downtown Chicago. The expressway is just 15 minutes away, and 10 minutes to LSD."

"Lots of dogs here, very friendly to dogs and the river trail is a great addition. Many restaurants are also dog friendly. I would guess that most people in north center like dogs but there are also some wild cats that are very friendly. Dog owners may be jealous of all the happy cats. I personally don’t care for dogs but that’s not part of the question."

"Great schools, wonderful community. Our children play with many of the kids on the block. Summers are filled with riding your bike on the sidewalks, kids playing with chalk and water balloon fights. A highlight of our summer is the block party. We invite friends with their kids and the children play from day till night. "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am thrilled to recommend NPES to families as it is a place that really centers and cares about children. As a small, independent school it is able to be responsive and nimble and I have seen so many excellent additions to the program in recent years. This is truly a gem of a school in a challenging chicago landscape.Parent Review1y ago41 Reviews - Pilgrim Lutheran School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you’re looking for a welcoming, inclusive community where your child will have personalized attention from teachers who care about your child, then Pilgrim is definitely the school for you. We were not happy at our previous CPS school. Our daughter wasn’t happy, she felt ignored, the focus on timed tests (in 1st grade!) made her anxious and she started to not like school. Since we moved to Pilgrim, she has absolutely thrived. Her love for learning is due to the amazing teachers at Pilgrim. She’s a straight A student, scoring in the 90th+ percentile in both reading and math. She’s in her 8th grade year and Mrs. Andreen works one on one with each student to prepare them for the high school application process. She’s been a lifesaver! Our younger daughter loves her teacher as well. I love the care and support she has provided to my youngest and as parents we love the fact that we can communicate easily with teachers. They are very supportive and responsive (which was not our experience at CPS). It is also by far the most affordable private school option. There’s no way we could have afforded the other private options on the north side. Pilgrim’s like a hidden gem. I can’t say enough good things about our tiny but mighty school community!Parent Review6mo ago44 Reviews - St Benedict Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been a part of the St Ben's community for four years and are extremely happy with the quality of the education and how invested and caring the teachers are. St Ben's also has so many extra curricular activities for the kids, sport twice a week, Spanish, Art, STEM, music and many more. There is lots of school events to get involved with for example Daddy/Daughter Dances, Mom's/Dad's nights out, a Gala, Fun Run and great Oktober Fest that the Parish puts on. The communication to parents each week is very clear and informative. Our daughter is thriving at the school, we are very happy at St Ben's!Parent Review2y ago13 Reviews - St Benedict Preparatory School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent community school that has a broad academic program with many options for your kid(s). The community feel around this school is extremely strong with excellent parent involvement across the board. As parents we moved both our kids here over the years and have experienced such a warm atmosphere with excellent teachers that care.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews
