Read what parents are saying about Darwin Elementary SchoolDarwin Principal and Assistant Principal and staff are poorly trained. The school is severely understaffed but have $15 grant in 2023. During that year the biggest purchase was over 20 fish tanks planted throughout the school, now in 2024 not one is in sight. There is so much bullying and racism at this school it’s painful, so not send your child here. If you do not follow the underlying rules placed by staff you are labeled a threat and will be treated differently.
Posted by a parent on 1/24/2024I am a student here and honestly I am tired of how they are not doing anything about the constant racism from one of my classmates.
Posted by a student on 12/3/2021Love Darwin everyone nice and very welcoming. Love how students are learning to be leaders. Best school my kids went to.Darwin school is the only Leader in Me School in CPS-District and having a Lighthouse status. The teachers and staff at Darwin go beyond what they have to do for the students and the parents here.

Posted by a community member on 1/27/2017I think that when a large percentage of employees do not return to a working environment that it must be because it is a bad experience.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an alumni of Avondale Logandale and a current teacher I have seen the school go through an amazing transformation over the past 15 years! The teachers and the staff are very dedicated to ensuring that their students are successful! The school offers so many opportunities for students that was not offered when I went to the school. The school itself has become avid certified which means that all teachers and staff are trained to teach your child strategies on how to be organized and be college and career ready. The school also offers a dual language program in English and Spanish, as well as fine arts classes such as theater, art, chorus, band, and sewing classes. The school also offers many sports programs in football, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, etc. Come and check out Avondale Logandale elementary school to give your child the best education Avondale/Logan Square has to offer!Teacher Review2y ago - Brentano Elementary Math & Science Academy

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from Brentano many moons ago and now, my children attend the school. I absolutely love the school and staff at Brentano but most importantly, my babies love it. They wake up excited to go to school everyday. My 5 year old does yoga and was taught to recycle. The school also offers before and after care through Right At School which makes life on working parents much easier.Parent Review11mo ago - Chase Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe relocated from Michigan to chicago and have found so much more joy at this school. The community of parents is incredibly supportive. The school has an abundance of after school programs to keep the kids engaged, even optional field trips on saturdays! Following Covid, my daughter was behind in reading but the teacher was able to bring her up to exceeding expectations. We are so grateful for the staff and community we have because of Goethe.Parent Review6mo ago - Monroe Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our third year as a Moos parent, now we have two children attending. We’re very happy with our kids education so far and as parents were getting more and more involved with the various parent organizations to continually raise funds and help support ongoing initiatives. We value their dual language program and are excited that our first grader is becoming bilingual! The principal is accessible and timely in her responses if I ever had questions/concerns. I definitely recommend Moos to other prospective parents.Parent Review7mo ago - Stowe Elementary School
