"Amazing, family-friendly, community that feels tucked away from the hustle/bustle of the city. Warm, welcoming neighbors filled with kids and dogs. Great neighborhood hang spots and places to eat as well as an array of shopping. Very central to the city with easy access to transportation options. 5 minute bike from the Salt Shed music venue as well!"

"Very neighborhoody & walkable but only 3 miles north of downtown, easy access to Lincoln Park, West Loop, & Bucktown offers great restaurants, shopping & parks. "

"Sketchy, always delayed, dirty and crowded.. I’ve seen things on the blue line no one should ever have to witness (especially before 8am). 0/10 would recommend but it’s the cheapest and quickest way to get to the loop. Lots of folks are always hanging around the stops, and I’ve stepped off the train a few times only to find myself in the middle of a crime scene. Literally.. a crime scene. "

"dog owners would really like the area because it is safe, friendly and clean. It seems like the majority of the people who live here are responsible and care about their neighborhood. It also has many places specific to people who like to run or walk and even bike. "

"606 is great for running and walking. The farmers market, movies in the park, and Wicker Park fest in the summer are all great!"

"Was an interesting neighborhood that became over-gentrified and lost all that made it desirable. Chain businesses that you can find in any suburban mall have replaced local spots.. Has lost any sense of diversity or culture "

"Walk 8-10 minutes to the Damen Blue Line to get into the Loop. Not too bad. Safe walk too, for the most part. So I can’t complain too much"

"Plenty of dogs in the neighborhood to have play dates with and to always keep your dog entertained. 3 dog parks close by too. Easy way to make friends and get to know your neighbors is to simply take a walk around the block. "

"There are many families with children due to the plethora of single-family homes in the area. Remainder of neighborhood tends to be younger adults."

"Clean, safe parks. There are a few schools in the neighborhood that seem to drive a lot of traffic from outside the neighborhood which I assume indicates the schools are the best in the city/Chicagoland area."

"Lots of families in the neighborhood and good places near by for food and to relax. Child daycare centers up and down North Ave as well as pet hotels. Really close to a very safe blue line stop."

"Crowded! The blue line is a disaster at Damen and Division stops from 6:30-9am. Be prepared to squish in after allowing 1-2 trains go back full with wall to wall. It’s extremely stressful and frustrating EVERY DAY!"

"Art event. Plenty of small events constantly. Great place to be. Parks and small local restaurants that host. Moving here there was plenty to find right away that make you feel at home. The Facebook pages for the community events and groups are great and connected"

"I have lived in Bucktown for the past 5 years and absolutely love it. I live on a quiet, tree-lined street. Everyone does their part to nicely maintain their properties and I live walking my dog around here because it’s beautiful and full of other dogs and dog lovers. "

"It’s not unique. People don’t know one another, ppl are not friendly people don’t clean after their dogs, people get assaulted at night. There are more taverns than convenient stores"

"Easy access to buses and trains or combination of both. Never more than 20 mins from a train and you can shorten with a quick bus ride. Close to metra as well and about 20 mins to downtown. "

"Very crowded train. Busy stops on both sides, but it is quick when things are moving. Sometimes so crowded though it could take 6-7 trains before I can get on. "

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had children at Drummond for the past 15 years and have had most of the teachers in the school. Every one of the teachers and Principal Kittle have been amazing to every student that I have ever seen them interact with. The parent community here is very involved and if you’re willing to get involved yourself, I think you will find Drummond to be incredibly supportive. I would recommend this school to anyone.Parent Review5mo ago19 Reviews - Pulaski International School of Chicago

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has been at SMA for the past seven years since my youngest was three years old. We now have all three of of kids attending and it is home for all of us. The community is amazing and the teachers pour so much into our children each day. My kids love school! Not only do they love learning, they genuinely race in every day to hug their teachers. The support and encouragement each teacher has given my kids shines through them. We as a family have gained so much from the community that is SMA as there are so many opportunities to get involved and great families who attend SMA.Parent Review7y ago21 Reviews
