Read what parents are saying about Pulaski International School of ChicagoMy son is entering his 3rd year at Pulaski International School. I'm a big fan of the principal, teachers, the support staff, and the extremely active parent groups at Pulaski.I'm thrilled this school goes to great lengths to meet my child's individual needs not just academically, but socially and emotionally (he's emotionally immature). I would strongly recommend this CPS to anyone considering PIS. Go Sabers :)
Posted by a parent on 8/18/2023My daughter is only in preschool but she feels very comfortable with her teachers and fellow classmates! I'm super excited to know that she's happy with the school I picked for her.
Posted by a parent on 8/8/2017Amazing teachers and parent involvement. LOVE the IB program and its impact on the learning--every lesson considered on a global scale. These kids will know the vastness of the world and how they contribute to it.
Posted by a parent on 4/14/2016We are in our second year of preK at Pulaski and couldn't be happier with the community and education provided. This is a wonderful neighborhood school with a very active parent group that is involved with bettering the school and fundraising to supplement the CPS budget. We are proud to be a part of such an incredible community and as a bonus walk to and from school everyday.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended half-day PK-3 last year. She loved her experience there, and we were impressed by how much learning could be done in just 2.5 hours a day. Previously she had been at home with a nanny or parent. She learned concepts that I hadn't learned until Kindergarten or 1st grade back in the 1990s, like syllables, phonics, etc. Her teacher and classroom assistant were warm, engaging, responsive, and welcoming, and they adapted very well to a class that varied in its makeup in terms of prior knowledge and experience outside the home. The preschool reflected the diverse country in which we live - Black children, Latino children, white children, recently arrived immigrants, children with special needs, etc. That's a wonderful thing; the kids learn so much from one another. In my observations, the children integrated well as they learned and played together. I noticed no divisions and my child never mentioned any. As white people, our child was a minority at this school, and we had zero issues with that; no one ever made us feel unwelcome and she wasn't teased or anything like that. What stands out the most to me about this school is that it is such a warm and welcoming community. I am not exaggerating when I say in the entire year we attended this school, I never encountered one staff member - whether a teacher, office clerk, security personnel, or janitor - who had a bad attitude. They really mean the "Community" part of the name José De Diego Community Academy. The school received a large influx of Spanish-speaking immigrant children towards the end of the school year, and it was impressive to watch the whole school mobilize and pull together to try to support these kids. There are many bilingual staff. In my daughter's class alone, the kids spoke English, Spanish, Ukrainian and Polish! However, we ended up transferring to our assigned neighborhood school (which does not offer a PK-3 program) albeit with broken hearts. We really miss Diego but think our child's long-term academic needs will be met better at a school with a dedicated Gifted program, and this school does not currently offer that. However, I'm confident that if more families give this school a try, we will see the test scores rise just as they did in the nearby neighborhood schools, Pritzker and Pulaski and Burr over the last decade. And if my child's new school doesn't add a PK-3 program, I will without hesitation send my second child to De Diego for PK-3.Parent Review7mo ago - Chase Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDrummond has been a welcoming community for our family (early childhood). Our child’s teacher is attentive to her learning needs and sparks creativity and imagination in all of the students. The kids get a good amount of outside play time and plenty of opportunity to explore the arts through special classes daily. The principal has been responsive and engaged, and parents are quite involved.Parent Review1mo ago - Goethe Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe relocated from Michigan to chicago and have found so much more joy at this school. The community of parents is incredibly supportive. The school has an abundance of after school programs to keep the kids engaged, even optional field trips on saturdays! Following Covid, my daughter was behind in reading but the teacher was able to bring her up to exceeding expectations. We are so grateful for the staff and community we have because of Goethe.Parent Review6mo ago - Moos Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our third year as a Moos parent, now we have two children attending. We’re very happy with our kids education so far and as parents were getting more and more involved with the various parent organizations to continually raise funds and help support ongoing initiatives. We value their dual language program and are excited that our first grader is becoming bilingual! The principal is accessible and timely in her responses if I ever had questions/concerns. I definitely recommend Moos to other prospective parents.Parent Review6mo ago - Pritzker Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has been at this school for a couple years and it has gotten from mediocre to being the worst.I find the leadership lacking, the teachers instruction insufficient, the staffing disrespectful, and the organization of this school dysfunctional. I would like to be a more involved parent so I know what my child is learning, but have been given little to no information regarding curriculum. There seem to be favoritism among teachers with their pet students and I don’t see how it is equal for all students. I thought this year could be different, but so far it has been a big disappointment.Parent Review6mo ago - Yates Elementary School
