"I've lived here for 25 years and it's gotten better but the roads suck here and the city takes forever to fix anything."

"This is a decent neighborhood. The roads are being redone as of this summer 2019 so that is something to look forward for."

"I’ve lived here for two years. It is quiet and feels rural while being in the heart of the city. Everyone keeps to themselves but are friendly if met during many of the daily dog walks everyone takes. "

"Stray dogs are everywhere, dogs even sometimes jump over their own fences so you have to always be on your toes. No sidewalk and people drive crazy down the street "

"not the greatest neighborhood, kinda sketchy. many poorly kept up homes, not walking friendly. Just East of here feels safe, I wouldn't not go walking in the neighborhood, not even in the daytime"

"Encanto is full of diversity. The best place to go grocery shopping, is at Albertsons, Food for Less, or Henrys Market in Lemon Grove. Then you also have a great variety of restaurants from major chains to family owned. Can't go wrong finding what you need at nearby Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Big Lots and Kohls. Along with other smaller stores you find at strip malls. There are several parks nearby that are nice and one even has a lake you can run around on a dirt track. Plenty of San Diego School District schools to choose from. Only thing about transportation is that you have to walk a bit before you get to a bus stop or to the trolley station on Massachusetts. Very convenient to freeways. Quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature. It will give off a wildlife feel all around you. Crime rate very low. Great neighbors all around. Family/Pet friendly."

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was able to get my son into this school via the Choice Program (we are out of district in National District) and I am more than pleased with my experience. My son went to an exceptional preschool ran by San Diego State, and the transition to regular school was definitely nerve wracking. My son was lucky enough to have Mr. Parker as his first teacher and he is exceptional. He is very honest about your child and their progress, leads his classroom with respect, and communicates promptly on Class Dojo about any questions and concerns. The school does an excellent job of sending announcements via class Dojo, and the ladies in the office are super helpful. The homework load is more than I would have expected for Kindergarten, but my son is able to complete most of it at Primetime, and I believe it’s allowed him to excel in reading, writing and math. Drop off can be a bit chaotic as there is only one stretch of curb for parents to drop off, and it results in a lot of double parking and being blocked in, but if you arrive early, or are simply letting your kid out of the car it can be navigated. I just found out my daughter got in for TK and I couldn’t be more happy.Parent Review1y ago10 Reviews - Encanto Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in Kindergarten and we have had a wonderful experience with excellent, caring teachers and staff. His school classes include reading/writing & math in the main classroom, then separate classes for science, music, & art. Also included are free play and wellness breaks, breakfast & lunch, and separate socio-emotional growth learning with the Incredible Years Dinosaur School. Additionally, my child enjoys the after school care with Primetime. We've experienced very great communication with the teachers & we've found that there are lots of opportunities for family engagement. It's been a great experience at Encanto Elementary.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - The O'Farrell Charter School
