"The traffic isn’t terrible to my workplace. On a good day, it’s 20 minutes. On a bad day, it’s 25 minutes. "

"Quite street. People here really speak but keep to themselves. A great since of diversity and togetherness."

"We have the view of Coronado and can see fireworks from our area on the 4th of July. Every year there is Fil-Am Fest to get to know the Filipino-American community. Every other year, there’s an event called Paradise Hills Night Market which has food trucks, local vendors, artists, and special cultural showcases. "

"Quite and safe, I often see people (most are women) jog at night time and that is a big statement how confident they are with safety in the community. Though the downside is no restaurants near this area."

"Lived here for 8 years, quiet and respectful of your privacy. Never missed a package, the parks are nice and I live close to the supermarket so that’s convenient. Looks pretty for the most part "

"It’s a good mix of people, clean, and safe. I’ve lived in this area for most of my life and have seen it change a lot. Some have been good changes and very few bad ones. Overall, it’s a good neighborhood."

"No kids around. Close to the freeways. Nice weather. Cool at nights. Not far from downtown. Grocery stores not far. Banking not far. Fire station nearby."

"Affordable nice size homes but not the best in terms of crime and schools. Neighbors are nice. The mall is not far along with stores. "

"It is mostly quiet. It has been less disruptive over the last year. You have to see it i. The day and on a friday to know if you can feel comfortable here."

"Used to be the hood from what I’ve heard. But overall have had no issues besides it being far from amenities. Not a lot if eatery places or shops. "

"I wouldn't say it is unique, but the homes are built well and many are undergoing renovation. A new public library was built and new streetlights are being installed everywhere, as well as underground power lines (makes for a more appealing street view) so expect property values to climb over time."

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDr. Pham’s leadership over the past handful of difficult years has transformed Boone Elementary into a nurturing space for children to thrive. Faculty do their best to teach and mentor with the resources at hand, and while parents aren’t as engaged in this community as others I’ve seen, overall students are setup to succeed at this school.Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Fulton K-8

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTotally agree with post below from April 2015. Fulton has had issues for YEARS!! The teachers are mean, really nasty....it's one thing to be firm but another to have this 'take it or leave it' attitude. It's disgraceful that San Diego Unified and the community hasn't come together to address the various issues at this school and fix them (too numerous to list here). Superintendent Martin continues to ignore the issues in many of the South East San Diego schools as have numerous other school officials. Deplorable!Parent Review10y ago4 Reviews - Penn Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended Kindergarten here. She loved going to school every day! The staff and students made her feel right at home and we noticed a big improvement as the year progressed on her language, numbers, and writing ability. There is a very active PTA who raised a ton of money for student activities. Principle Herrera is great. Great staff and students!!Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Bethune K-8

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far it's been a very good school and I like the fact that it's a K through 8 school where I can keep all my kids together for a couple of more years. Also if you have a young or maybe small 6th 7th or 8th grader that you feel is not quite ready to go to a big Middle School this is a great alternative. My middle school child receives homework but I don't think he is bombarded with it the way he would probably be in a traditional Middle School setting. Bethune is much smaller and teachers really get to know your child.Parent Review6y ago9 Reviews - Zamorano Elementary School
