Read what parents are saying about Fulton K-8Totally agree with post below from April 2015. Fulton has had issues for YEARS!! The teachers are mean, really nasty....it's one thing to be firm but another to have this 'take it or leave it' attitude. It's disgraceful that San Diego Unified and the community hasn't come together to address the various issues at this school and fix them (too numerous to list here). Superintendent Martin continues to ignore the issues in many of the South East San Diego schools as have numerous other school officials. Deplorable!
Posted by a parent on 10/6/2015This used to be a wonderful schooL with Ms. King as principal. However since then the administration has pushed the community away with its bully tactics of "if you don't like it leave". Alot of staff and loyal parents did just that. The complaints to the school board, Superintendent, diatrict board members and "parent liasons" have been passed around like a hot pototo for years now and the community has suffered the most. It's politicians at their best as long as its in Southeast where nobody matters.
Posted by a parent on 4/23/2015Fulton K-8 is a hidden gem where children come first. It is like a small private school that is publicly funded. If you are looking for a place where your child will receive care, nurturing, and a stellar education, come to Fulton K-8.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal is nowhere to be seen from students and parents. She does not try to engage with others. My child only sees her when she is yelling at students to “behave” (ie. talking too loudly while in line). She makes students do laps during their recess for “misbehaving.” I’ve never seen her at any of the few school events offered or at award ceremonies. The rest of the admin staff in the office are unwelcoming. Other than testing and high scores, they care a lot about funding but we have no idea where that goes. They do not hold many events or fundraisers like other nearby schools in the same neighborhood cluster do nor do they encourage or allow parent involvement or PTA. There are no pizza parties or celebrations. There was only an Open House event and either another one or a Back to School even which the principal was not present at. They were supposedly going to have an event for the end of the year but that didn’t happen. The education and overall experience your child will have here all depends on which teacher they get so having a great teacher will make all the difference. My kid was lucky most years with great teachers but had a terrible year due to a horrible teacher. The main focus subjects are math and English which are why the ratings are so high. Science, history, arts, etc are considered extra and optional if the teacher offers it.Parent Review9mo ago - Audubon K-8

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is really bad, I’ve been here since kindergarten in the beginning people are nice to you but throughout these years I got bullied, harassed, and cyber bullied. The teachers also didn’t do anything about it most of them at least. I had to MOVE SCHOOLS because of the people there because i couldn’t focus on my studies since everyone would make rude remarks, talk bad about you, and just straight up make fun of you. Even my friends did, and for the education they teach meh. Like it’s hard to get it and they don’t explain so well. That’s it just hate this school.Other Review2y ago - Boone Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDr. Pham’s leadership over the past handful of difficult years has transformed Boone Elementary into a nurturing space for children to thrive. Faculty do their best to teach and mentor with the resources at hand, and while parents aren’t as engaged in this community as others I’ve seen, overall students are setup to succeed at this school.Parent Review9mo ago - Encanto Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far I have not had a good experience with this school. They never watch the kids. Never get informed anything about my child unless it’s something they can’t get away with. Excuses are always made instead of solving the issues.Parent Review2mo ago - Freese Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I have been fairly happy with this school. I have 2 children attending this school and they have been there for multiple years. The teachers care about the students and the principal does the best she can with the funds and resources she has. She works hard to coordinate additional opportunities for the students whenever possible. My only complaints are as follows:1) I wish there was more STEM learning for students.2) Communication can be lacking sometimes. By this, I mean that some teachers use email, others use Class Dojo, and others send home paper copies. Sometimes it is hard to keep track of what format information with be arriving. Additionally, I wish the teachers provided a syllabus for the year, so that parents can initiate conversations and learning opportunities for their students outside of class. However, with a little proactiveness from the parents, the teachers and staff are willing to provide these things.Overall, this is a good school for you to send your children to.Parent Review2mo ago - Keiller Leadership Academy

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe secondary academic director does NOTHING for bullying. Many students have been bullied relentlessly yet only teachers try to change. When brought to the directors attention she claims there is no bullying and victims are the ones who are wrong! Parents are never informed about conflicts with students and the secondary director Ms. S only brings it up when parents confront her.Other Review1y ago - Perry Elementary School
