Maple Commons is an income-restricted apartment community offering 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom layouts on a residential block in the Washington Park section of Roxbury, just off Seaver Street and across from Franklin Park. At 485 acres, Franklin Park is Boston's largest open space, with some fifteen miles of walking paths and trails, the Franklin Park Zoo, and the 18-hole William J. Devine Golf Course, the second-oldest public golf course in the country. Grove Hall is a short walk away, with shops and dining along Blue Hill Avenue and the Grove Hall branch of the Boston Public Library. The Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists is close by on Walnut Avenue. Public transportation is right at the corner: the 22 and 29 buses stop at Seaver and Maple Streets, connecting to the Orange Line at Jackson Square and Ruggles and the Red Line at Ashmont. The 28 runs along nearby Blue Hill Avenue to Nubian Square and Ruggles. Apartments are income-restricted based on Area Median Income (AMI), and applicants must meet income qualifications to be eligible.
