This school is completely and utterly disorganized, and the leadership must be held accountable. There is a constant lack of communication, and staff members are frequently left unsure of what is happening in the building. This ongoing dysfunction directly impacts students, especially in a neighborhood where children are already marginalized and rely heavily on strong, consistent leadership. Instead, what they experience is confusion, inconsistency, and a lack of direction.Both the principal and the assistant principals in this building should be placed under investigation. The level of disorganization and disconnect is not occasional. It is persistent. There is little evidence that leadership is aware of what is happening day to day, and even less evidence that concerns raised by staff, students, or families are taken seriously or addressed with urgency.It is particularly alarming that bullying continues to occur despite the presence of parent coordinators and designated bullying liaisons. These roles exist to protect students, yet incidents continue while leadership appears unaware or unresponsive. Students are left navigating harmful situations without the support they deserve, and staff are left without clear guidance or follow-through.Our students deserve better. They deserve a safe, structured, and responsive school environment where leadership is present, informed, and accountable. When leadership fails to communicate, fails to respond, and fails to protect students, it creates an atmosphere where problems grow and students suffer. It is frustrating, disheartening, and unacceptable that this level of dysfunction continues without intervention.

Good school my kids went there is good school

I write this review on my own will. My son is in first grade now and he has improved a lot here, in terms of his mathematical, critical thinking and linguistic abilities. One thing that impressed me, as a newcomer to this city, is the lesson tailored just to your child. I mean, if a student's ability is above the average, then the teachers could give more challenging tasks for him, compared to the others. In that sense, I just can't blindly trust the average ranking of the school because it tells nothing about how our children will perform in school.Overall, I recommend this school to everybody lives in the neighborhood. It's a great school with teachers who really care about their students.

On September 30th of 2025, my son was placed in restraints with his hands behind his back by the security at ps 224. I was told that my son was displaying behavioral issues that is why the restraints were needed. My son has never had any behavioral issues at all until he got to ps 224. It is so bad until the point where my son does not want to go back to school. The staff at the school kept telling me that my son was banging his head and throwing objects across the floor he has never displayed any of this behavior until he got to ps 224 and he has only been in the school less than a month. The staff is very disrespectful and they are not capable of handling certain situations when it comes to a student showing this type of action. My son is only 7 years old and he is very traumatized about what happened to him at ps 224.
