"Nice neighborhood safe and diverse. Great school, good place to set roots for a family. Very close to all the major highways buses and LIRR."
  • Absentmindstate
"Very safe area, nicely maintained. Gets boring at times because there is not many parks in walking distance or activities for the youth. Schools are all of high quality but they lack ethnic and economic diversity. If you have kids, they will be raised in a very sheltered place here. If you want them to experience more contact with real world situations and people then dont move here. "
  • Lenia K.
"The neighborhood is nice and safe. The public transportation is good. The area is clean. There are many good restaurants in the area."
  • Teresa B.
"The New Hyde Park festival every summer. Some concert in our park. Fire Dept parade and our little baseball teams. Our community pools and affairs in general make this town unique. "
  • Idris_abedin

  • Jacklynquiles
"There are many Families. The neighborhood is quiet and clean. Many activities, restaurants and the neighbors are wonderful. Streets are always nice and tidy. There are many kids that play around the area and I would definitely feel safe with my kids playing around with the other children in the neighborhood. "

  • Jmandrin
"It’s private yet a short walk away are all the stores. I call it the Piazza. One side of street is floral park, one side garden city, ones side Stewart manor and lastly new Hyde park. "
  • Ebaltazar31
"Great community. Safe no crime ever. Everything is close by and walking distance. Everyone gets along "
  • Jmandrin
"My neighborhood has easy commute to Manhattan and easy access to shopping via car or within walking distance. The only bad thing is Sewanhaka Schook District. Although I live in the Village of New Hyde Park and pay extra Incororated Village taxes, we are stuck sending the children to Sewanhaka High School and the majority of kids there are poorly disciplined. There are drugs and alcohol more than other schools and the fist fighting is just ridiculous. The school tells me I am wrong but the kids that I know who are currently attending SHS send me videos of what goes on. "
