"Traffic is terrible, takes at least 20 minutes to get anywhere. Takes me 45 minutes to get to the north shore when it’s 30 minutes away. There’s a lot is schools so be mindful of children crossing and lots of stop signs/buses. Good public transportation however and lots of bus stops and train stations near by. Highly recommended taking the train into the city. "

"I've lived in Lynbrook for 30 years, without hesitation this area is unparallelled for green space and tight knit community so close to New York City. The commute to Manhattan is less than 20 minutes via LIRR and JFK is close enough to be convenient yet far enough not to be a nuisance. The School District (#20) is highly ranked and the southern part of the town backs right up to Hewlett and Hewlett Harbor. South Lynbrook is where you can afford the house and the taxes yet be right on the border with the "high rent district." "
