"The neighborhood is very versatile. Different cultures reside amongst the neighborhood and call it home. Many neighbors keep to themselves while others do interact with you and make small talk. Great place to raise children."

"The bus is really accessible and easy to navigate. The path is a bit harder to get to but overall the commute to north Hoboken and downtown are easy enough. Having a car helps, but parking can be a bit of a challenge. The heights is super walkable and most things that you need are within a walking distance. "

"The Heights. I’ve lived here, moved elsewhere and still came back because of all it offers. Good, walkable neighborhood with a park within reach in most directions. Central Avenue and Indian Street are pretty close too. Journal Square and Times Square are easy to reach. "

"The Hutton has the Guinness and Oyster festival every June. There’s a farmers market in RiverView Park every Sunday in the spring and summer. There’s sometimes live music in RiverView park as well. It is an up an coming neighborhood with easy access to Manhattan via public transportation or car. There’s great food trucks in RiverView park in the spring and summer time. Also the Heights has great local restaurants like The Hutton bar and Grill and Low Fidelity."

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool is good, my both kids study here. Some teachers have more focus on academics than others but overall they are supportive and kind. School has “hope” section for academically good students in 3rd to 5th grades. In hope sections students get a bit more challenging study material. Principal Pistillie is supportive of parents concerns and tries to solve them.Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Alfred E. Zampella No. 27 Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids are in 1st and 5th grades, and they enjoy attending this school. It might not be the best school out there, but it’s definitely a good one. The homework load is light, in my opinion. I don’t agree with those who complain about it—school isn’t an all-inclusive service. As a parent, you need to dedicate time and effort to your child’s development.Parent Review1y ago21 Reviews - Christa McAuliffe School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI noticed many reviews of PS 28 are from 10-15 years ago. Thought I would update with a current experience. We LOVE PS 28. We have three kids here. We find that almost all the teachers are accomplished and VERY dedicated. The principal (Ms D) is fabulous - we are so lucky! She is a former lawyer who is incredibly warm and responsive to kids and families. The kid and family community is full of EVERYONE- which feels like such a lucky thing for kids to experience. Our older kid got into all the fancy test-in middle schools - but we chose to keep him here instead. It’s a wonderful learning community. No school is perfect - but this one is pretty great.Parent Review2mo ago7 Reviews - Jotham W. Wakeman No. 6 Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI send my children to St Anne's because I know the principal, staff and teachers care for our children. My son also scored high on the Terra Nova test. I would not send my children to any other school. I transferred my two boys from St. Nick's 2 years ago and there is no comparing. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSaint Nicholas has always been a great school and a part of my life ...since i was a student in the 80's. It was the only choice for me when choosing a school for my two boys. It's a place where everyone knows your name. The principal is very active in the daily student life. She has worked very hard implementing new security systems...better than many public schools! The teachers are great. They are nurturing, disciplinary and provide a well rounded education. The only reason we are not returning in September, sadly, is due a long distance move. I will certainly miss the school as will my boys. The community of parents and students is also outstanding. A truly friendly and caring community!Parent Review6y ago9 Reviews - Concordia Learning Center At St Joseph's School
