"I moved to this area in 2003 from Astoria, Queens and it’s 2023; and it has only got better! This neighborhood still cheap compared to other places; JC is the 6th borough of NYC! I love this neighborhood! "

"Very pet friendly area. There is a store called fussy friend. I love that place for dogs and any other pets. There are many dog owners on my street and I always see them walk their dog to the park. Lincoln Park is great. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years. People are not so friendly and they are very greedy when it comes to street parking . I have seen floks saved their parking spots for friends and family and leave their driveways unused. I have also seen many people driving infront of their homes in the summer time . I wouldn't trust to walk later than 10:00 pm at night . Be careful with your children ."

"The history of Historic Doctor's Row with the old Colonels & Victorian mansions from the late 1800's & early 1900's when high society wanted to live by and stroll through the beautiful Lincoln Park. The neighborhood is the living set for the HBO series "The Plot Against America" with its picturesque historic homes. Many homes served as working doctor's offices where surgeries were performed. Other homes feature servants quarters and cellars with horse stables. The history of Jersey City is most preserved in the West Side neighborhood and the homes you find here. "

"Close to public transportation. Shops nearby. Zero parking! Several fire hydrants on the block don’t work. Safety is on a block by block basis -good on one but can get sketchy if you walk over two or three blocks. "

"This is the worat neighborhood I've lived in and I lived in the Bronx for 5 years before this. High crime rates, horrible grocery stores with spoiled food, not so friendly neighbors. But if you have no other choices and ars adamant about living in the tri state, this neighborhood will be the cheapest choice for you."

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child went here and I would not recommend anyone to send their child here, they be better off going to public school. Most teacher at LCCS do not seem interested in their students. They seem more interested about leaving the build rather than teaching my child. My child was a part of the special Education and I have to say those teacher were the only true teacher that cared about my child. Those teacher watched out for my child even if my child wasn't in their classroom or wasn't their student. With other teacher they do not care about my child some of them watched my child struggle and having a hard time in their class and did not care. One time my child had been struggling in science and had ask for help, the science helped her but then blamed her for "not listening" to the teacher during the lesson. Which was 100% a lie she was listening and even took extra note to make sure she had all the info. meanwhile the special education teacher truly knew if my child was ok or not even if she was smiling. And when my child as enrolled in the school a student was not so, smart and did a dumb but VERY unsafe thing and the school didn't removed that student but rather put that student into online school for LCCS. Lucky that student was smart and removed themselves from the LCCS community. LCCS truly need to do better in the school the only good part of LCCS is their special education.Parent Review10mo ago50 Reviews - Chaplain Charles Watters School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagecannot recommend St. Aloysious Academy due to its repeated failure to address serious concerns regarding student safety and well-being. Instead of taking action, the administration consistently ignores or downplays issues, leaving parents and children without proper support. Bullying, misconduct, and other safety concerns are routinely brushed under the rug, making it clear that the school's priority is avoiding bad publicity rather than protecting its students.Parents deserve transparency, and children deserve a safe learning environment. Unfortunately, this school does not provide either. If you're considering St. Aloysious Academy for your child, I strongly encourage you to look into these issues before making a decision.Other Review1y ago13 Reviews - St Aloysius Elementary Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI highly recommend St. Aloysius Elementary Academy, because it’s more than just a school. It’s a place where students are truly supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. The school provides a strong academic foundation while fostering a sense of community, kindness, and respect. The principal, Mr. Rivera, and the staff are exceptional because they go above and beyond. They ensure that every student feels valued and supported. Mr. Rivera leads with compassion, always making time to connect with students and families. He creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere, making sure that every student feels seen and heard. The teachers and staff are incredibly dedicated, passionate, and always willing to help. They create engaging lessons that make learning fun, while also focusing on each student’s personal growth and well-being. Their care and commitment make St. Aloysius Elementary Academy a special place that prepares students for both academic success and life beyond the classroom.Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews
