St Anne's Elementary School

Our daughter loves going to school and the teachers are very nice and caring.

School is good, my both kids study here. Some teachers have more focus on academics than others but overall they are supportive and kind. School has “hope” section for academically good students in 3rd to 5th grades. In hope sections students get a bit more challenging study material. Principal Pistillie is supportive of parents concerns and tries to solve them.

My kids are in 1st and 5th grades, and they enjoy attending this school. It might not be the best school out there, but it’s definitely a good one. The homework load is light, in my opinion. I don’t agree with those who complain about it—school isn’t an all-inclusive service. As a parent, you need to dedicate time and effort to your child’s development.

I noticed many reviews of PS 28 are from 10-15 years ago. Thought I would update with a current experience. We LOVE PS 28. We have three kids here. We find that almost all the teachers are accomplished and VERY dedicated. The principal (Ms D) is fabulous - we are so lucky! She is a former lawyer who is incredibly warm and responsive to kids and families. The kid and family community is full of EVERYONE- which feels like such a lucky thing for kids to experience. Our older kid got into all the fancy test-in middle schools - but we chose to keep him here instead. It’s a wonderful learning community. No school is perfect - but this one is pretty great.

A school that disables Google reviews limits transparency. Parents investing their hard-earned money deserve access to feedback before enrolling.I was warned by multiple people, including a former teacher, but gave the school the benefit of the doubt. My experience raised concerns about structure and communication. Parents are not consistently informed about what their children are working on. For first grade and above, students should primarily be seated at tables and chairs to support focus and discipline, yet children are often on the floor and academic goals are unclear.In some situations, support services or therapy were recommended quickly instead of increasing classroom staffing. Class sizes appear large relative to the number of teachers. If Arabic is not spoken at home, parents should carefully evaluate how instruction and progress are handled.Transparency and structure matter.

I love this school soo much!! My kids told me that they eat in the gym, so I would recommend a cafeteria and maybe even a chorus room and library
