School is good, my both kids study here. Some teachers have more focus on academics than others but overall they are supportive and kind. School has “hope” section for academically good students in 3rd to 5th grades. In hope sections students get a bit more challenging study material. Principal Pist

Posted by a parent on 8/22/2013i love this school im in it and they have won alot of contests they very safe for your children they even have safety patrols they also have the student council they also dont allow any junk food only healthy snacks so your child will be iin good shape this school goes up to grade 5

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school definitely teaches better things, but teachers need to pay attention to the bullying. My younger cousin was getting bullied and no one did anything about it, until his mother had to say something. They have fun activities and shows, but they need to get better at hosting them. Provides free bus tickets for students that need it, but only if you live far enough. The whole mental health thing doesn’t even help, the counseling is supposed to make it better but it really makes no difference, so they need to fix that. However, you can definitely make friends here, and can have an amazing time. They host many things, occasionally host field trips (for middle school..), and other fun events. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids are in 1st and 5th grades, and they enjoy attending this school. It might not be the best school out there, but it’s definitely a good one. The homework load is light, in my opinion. I don’t agree with those who complain about it—school isn’t an all-inclusive service. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI noticed many reviews of PS 28 are from 10-15 years ago. Thought I would update with a current experience. We LOVE PS 28. We have three kids here. We find that almost all the teachers are accomplished and VERY dedicated. The principal (Ms D) is fabulous - we are so lucky! She is a former lawyer who is incredibly warm and responsive to kids and families. The kid and family community is full of EVERYONE- which feels like such a lucky thing for kids to experience. Our older kid got into all the fancy test-in middle schools - but we chose to keep him here instead. It’s a wonderful learning community.
