"Good commuter rail and bus service but lacks frequency. Bluebikes a good option if there were more bikes closer"

"There are lots of parks and urban wilds nearby. Unfortunately speeding and lack of traffic enforcement is a major issue. Pedestrians need to be vigilant and hyper aggressive to avoid getting run over "

"Super convenient on the commuter rail, but the frequency needs to be improved. The bus to orange line is also an alternative "

"Orange line to downtown is super quick and easy. Needs to be extended a few more miles to cover SW Boston"

"Orange line from Forest Hills is fantastic, but the last mile is hit or miss. More blue bikes would help"

"There is ongoing initiative and changes to improve motor vehicle, cyclist, and pedestrian safety. Hopefully will lead to measurable improvements in the next few years."

"Amazing area! Lots of really nice kids and solid families. A good mix of parks and trails to walk in mixed with city access from the T make this area easy to love "

"Farmers market, Roslindale Village, the arboretum. Not as many college students in the area-more like a neighborhood than other areas I’ve lived in in metro Boston."

"Walkable neighborhoods, many public schools and some daycare options close fields and courts, some activities for different ages, mixed ages in the neighborhoods. "

"I drive to and from work, occasionally taking the bus. Some side streets get backed up close to the square, but it’s mostly a pleasant commute and no problem parking on the street. "

"We’ve lived in Roslindale for 2.5 years and love it. Downtown Rozzie has some of our favorite restaurants and the farmer’s market on the weekends is awesome. It’s far enough removed from the city but is easy to get downtown via the T or commuter rail. #roslove"

"Where I’m living is different to the other neighborhoods, because it’s a beautiful place you don’t heard anything except the cars and animals that you hear. I really like it. That’s why everyone needs to leave somewhere you can have your freedom and peace."

"One of the best communinties in the City of Boston reflective of all the good in Boston that one would want their family to experience in a urban setting. Communal with spice and calm. Love Roslindale! "

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe’ve been at the Sumner two years and our very pleased, especially with the remote learning. If I could give the Sumner 4.5 stars I would (because hey no school is perfect and BPS facilities do need upgrading - though the Sumner has an amazing brand new playground). We’ve had two fabulous teachers and have been able to connect with other families. The school is large but I have never gotten the impression that it’s overcrowded. I love that the preschool classrooms are by themselves on the lower level and likewise the wraparound care for the youngest grades. I think the school and especially the parent council try hard to reach out to engage families and are especially concerned with doing so equitably, given how diverse the school is.Parent Review5y ago15 Reviews - Haley Pilot School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is being bullied & the school is purposely ignoring it. Yet chooses to punish them for their response. The principle claims to investigate but always comes back saying she found nothing. Even though there is a known problem with behavior in this classrom. I am seriously concerned for my child's well being. They are now telling me they don't think their teachers like them cause no one listens to them. No one is offering any real help. In my opinion, the staff is a smiling passive aggressive rouge group with the power to determine whether to hold themselves accountable for anything.Parent Review3y ago3 Reviews - Philbrick Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average4 year relationship with this school. Teachers are nice & caring as well as receptionist. I strongly dislike the principal though. Very uppity and only friendly to certain parents which I find unprofessional. Other complaint is that only certain parents know of everyday events at school. My child came home after school with an art project saying a few of her classmates parent's were there helping them make them. Why did I not know? Cliquey with the principal? Other than this issue the school is small and nice.Other Review9y ago2 Reviews - Bates Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am the mom of a 5th grader at the Bates, and i absolutely love this school. It really is a hiddem gem. My daughter started the Bates in the 4th grade Advanced Work Program and every day of school i am surprised and wowed. She has learned so much and continues to. The teamwork of the entire school is awesome! The teachers and staff sincerely and genuinely CARE about each childs wellbeing. Its really in my eyes and college prepatory school for elementary students. I would recommend this school to everyone. Its just the right size and its just an overall optimal environment for child to learn and grow!!Parent Review12y ago5 Reviews - Lt Joseph P Kennedy Junior Memoria
