"This is probably one of the most dog friendly areas in the city. I’ve almost never walked around the neighborhood without seeing some dogs. "

"A mix of urban convenience and rural quiet and trees. This neighborhood is close to the beach and lake and city trains and buses. Library, grocery, gyms, restaurants, and specialty shops are plentiful. Both single family homes and multi-unit buildings make up the residences which are flanked by alleys, sidewalks and greenways."

"Safe tree lined area in Chicago. Parks, lakefront, walkable, public transit options and friendly people. Dog friendly."

"Small town vibes with friendly people. Close to beach with restaurants and stores close by. Why do I have to have 100 minimum?"
  • Gdflip
"Neighborhood parties, neighborhood watch and street festival. Great dog park and friendly people. Close to the lake. "

"Close to the train and to Lakeshore— seems like a lot of families and relatively quiet streets with manageable parking!"

"It's very close to Lake Michigan and the Bike-path is nearby. Public transportation is plentiful with many options. Still you must be aware of your surroundings, thinks get sketchy at night, especially on Kenmore or Winthrop Av"

"Edgewater is a great neighborhood. I always feel safe and I love having bars and restaurants nearby. Lots of friendly neighbors and pretty affordable housing. I’m currently renting but hoping to find a condo in my price range. I’d love to stay in Edgewater for years to come!"

"this stable, picturesque community has been ideal for access to everything the city has to offer. we walk to shopping, library (newest state of the art library in same location coming soon!), redline, lakefront, restaurants on Granville, Devon, and north end of Andersonville and only use the car to go out to suburbs. we have wonderful, long time neighbors and have had a very happy life here."

"Magnolia Glen is a hidden gem of a neighborhood that few know of that is tucked in between Ridge and Broadway on the east and west and Hollywood and Thorndale to the north and south. Mature trees line the streets, which are laid out with some streets running on a north west angle to match Ridge Avenue, which results in a surprisingly neighborly area. The homes are mostly early twentieth century single family and apartment buildings. You'll often find the residents out walking their dogs, playing with their children, tending to their landscaping or enjoying their homes. "
