"I drive a car, traffic is not bad however the roads are pretty rough in the city. Commute is not a headache though. Only when the weather is bad. "

"Andersonville: Lived here since 2016. Friendly, liberal, diversified, wonderful restaurants, low crime, nearby grocery, drug stores, and small businesses. Public transportation at your fingertips. Walking distance to Lake Michigan beaches, bicycle, and running trails. Village-like atmosphere, but close to downtown Chicago and its many sights, museums, art galleries, and theater. Great place to live! "

"Great starter area of Chicago. Schools are sub par though. Sent mine to private. Gang activity in certain areas. Plenty to walk too though. "

"So much to do in this neighborhood, which is lively but quiet at night. Child-friendly restaurants and stores. Close to the lakefront trail. "

"The Sommerfest, the weekly farmer’s market, sidewalk sales, Viking pub crawl and many more events make this neighborhood fun. It is also a fairly quiet neighborhood; if you want lots of nightlife, live farther south. We are older, and really love the inclusive, friendly vibe here."

"I commute to the Rosemont area by car. It averages 40 minutes. By bus and blueline, it is about an hour and 15. To get downtown from here is easy by Metra, red line, or Clark 22 bus."

"Many of the restaurants allow dogs at their outdoor tables. Many businesses offer free dog biscuits and set out water. Several good pet shops along Clark St. "

"It is a historic neighborhood with pretty large single family homes. Not as many children as you might think in the neighborhood."

"I've lived in this area for over 20 years and couldn't see myself living anywhere else. People are especially friendly, everyone says hello and if you have children or dogs they tend to be more talkative. We have an abundance of restaurants, grocery stores as well as public transportation all within walking distance. "

"Block parties and very friendly neighbors! Mix of families and renters, with a variety of people. More importantly, there’s a variety of bars, restaurants, and shopping right out your doorstep! Super safe area. I’ve lived in lake view, wicker park, and evanston and I’ve enjoyed Andersonville the most! "

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth our children attend Peirce and we've had a positive experience here so far over the years. The IB curriculum and school community as a whole is organized and intentional. I feel that my students are receiving a good education from knowledgeable and thoughtful educators. Peirce offers resources and opportunities for students to be creative and grow as individuals as well. My hope is that my students continue to feel included and valued here, and that communication in the school community continues. They have just hired a new Principal, after the previous one retired, and I have found the administration and faculty to be professional and supportive. The parent community is also incredibly active, and that makes being a part of Peirce fun for all.Parent Review6mo ago32 Reviews - Northside Catholic Academy
