"My neighborhood has a beautiful historic district less than a block from the lake. Multiple CTA options several bus routes a few express lines to Michigan Ave and downtown. The redline is conveniently located just east of Broadway, and the renovations are coming along quickly!! Many great restaurants located on Broadway, and grocery stores Jewel, Whole Foods and Aldi. The area is great for a stroll through the neighborhood or a bike ride along the lakeshore."

"Edgewater id such an amazing beautiful quiet place. There are a lot of friendly people. I’m new here only been here since October 2021 and it’s now December and I love it! It’s very safe and many dog walkers every time you step outside! Great place to raise a family. Schools are close and many grocery stores. I have not been to any community events but they do have virtual ones on book clubs because I received an invitation in the mail. I’m sure anyone who moves here will love it! The only downfall is the parking lol. This neighborhood is very special and I’m sure it will forever be a safe place. "

"It’s a great area for dog owners. Dog park near by for the puppies to play around in and a beach as well. A dog groomer in the area that is trust worthy. Plenty of walking room for you and your puppy. Don’t know if many dislikes in the area but I’m sure there might be some but I can’t think of any and can only think of all the wonderful and great things about loving wth a dog in this neighborhood. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a substitute teacher. I have worked at 35 CPS schools and this one is my favorite. Great teachers, friendly and helpful staff, and very engaged Principal and AP! It is becoming difficult to get gigs at this school because word has gotten out and now everyone wants to sub here! Also, the students body is very diverse and the majority of the kids have been respectful, curious, and responsive to learning.Teacher Review2y ago9 Reviews - Swift Elementary Specialty School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe worst school there is. Thank God I graduated from this school, but I wish I graduated from a different school, they did nothing for 8th graders, other schools took their students to six flags, New York, Washington, etc. they took us to the zoo. There are some good teachers but majority of the teachers just gossip, I personally overheard P with another teacher badmouthing the principal how she has no idea how to run the school and how she doesn’t know what she’s doing, even though she was not wrong, I just thought that conversation was inappropriate in front of students. Parents out there don’t bring your kids to this school, fights happen daily and almost always by the same bad students that face no consequences.Other Review1y ago16 Reviews - Chicago Jewish Day School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI toured the school a year ago with my newborn. I witnessed a teacher getting in children's faces and yelling at them for not working on their art -- at the very moment that the lady conducting the tour was talking about play based education and no one is forced to do anything. I was appalled by this woman who would have been teaching my 4 year old. When I brought it up, the tour lady said "well, that kid in particular is a problem child". I saw her yelling at more than one kid and scowling. I also witnessed another teacher yanking a boy by the arm from one room to another yelling at him. She let go when she saw us. I cried. I actually cried and left. I didn't know who to call but I would NEVER send my kid here. The environment was chaotic and the older children were running amok throwing toys everywhere. This is a bad environment for children and all they could accomplish is teaching your little ones how to disrespect others.Other Review11y ago8 Reviews - Northside Catholic Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year at NCA, and we feel so grateful to have found this school and community. Our child is flourishing and comes home feeling well supported each day. We are grateful for the connections we have made with other families and for the commitment of the staff. Excellent school with small classes and a focus on connection and belonging.Parent Review3mo ago12 Reviews - Sacred Heart Schools

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe decision to enroll my child at Sacred Heart ranks as the biggest mistake that I have made thus far as a parent. Positives: an absolutely incredible support staff and admissions team; a wonderful, engaged community of parents; and school-wide communication and activities. Negatives: teachers label children (narratives to compensate for their lack of preparedness), personalized plans, age-appropriate pedagogies, as well as actionable, consistent communications from teachers. The administration blindly supports teachers more than students and does not meaningfully respond to incontrovertible feedback. All are completely out of touch with boys today. But the biggest sin: Sacred Heart believes in itself more than its children, except it couches that in kindness and faith. Once tested, it claims limited resources. There are exceptional learners because they arrived exceptionally, bc of their parents' strengths, not the school's. There are too many incredible educators to settle here.Parent Review1y ago1 Reviews
