"Old town feel, walkable community and very diverse people and food. The focus on art of all forms is wonderful. My favorite place to live, but Sad to say single family houses are unaffordable . "

"Lots of other dog walkers and mostly people are very friendly with dogs. Great pet store and pet-friendly bar! But often chicken bones on the ground, and no easily walkable dog park."

"During rush hour it can be a little difficult along Blair and Piney Branch Roads. There are many cars from Maryland entering the city to get to Downtown. Relatively easy during non rush hour."

"Walking distance to Metro. Takoma Farmer's Market on Sundays. Great shops and restaurants with more to come (Busboys and Poets about to open, the old Walter Reed medical center site soon to be developed). A short hop to downtown Silver Spring for more restaurants and the American Film Institute."

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m disappointed with my experience at Tacoma Elementary School this year. My son has attended for three years, but during his second-grade year, I’ve noticed concerning behavior from both his classroom teacher and dance teacher. There have been moments where my son felt singled out and antagonized, which has affected him emotionally. As a parent, I also feel disrespected and, at times, discriminated against in how concerns were handled. I hope the school takes these issues seriously and works toward creating a more supportive and respectful environment for all students and families.Parent Review1mo ago13 Reviews - Breakthrough Montessori Public Charter School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLearning team is top notch. Great curriculum, wonderful teachers, kiddo loves this school and truly feels empowered in his learning. However, absolute worst administration, be prepared for poor management, terrible organization of most everything and (generally) rude admin staff. Despite that, still worth it for kiddo.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews
