"There's a park nearby which has a great playground for kids. The students from the high school rip sound pretty fast in their cars at certain times of day though on certain streets, which can be a kind of scary time to be out walking. "

"A lot of neighbors seem to let their dogs bark non stop which is pretty obnoxious. Lots of trails and paths to walk them on though so it is still a great place to life with dogs. "

"It’s dog friendly and I always see my neighbors walking their dogs of all shapes and sizes. Not much barking."

"San Carlos is at the foot of Cowles Mountain, a popular hike for many San Diegans. It’s more like California of the ‘50’s and ‘60’s with ranch style homes and local businesses which have been around for years. It’s a great community in which to raise children."

"If I had kids, I would look to this neighborhood to buy. It reminds me of the neighborhoods I grew up in as a child where we could play outside and explore."

"Dogs can walk their owners to the park! The other dogs in the neighborhood usually keep to themselves and only bark sometimes. Dogs who like other dogs would be happy."

"Theres plenty of grass to curb your dog. Most people are pretty good about picking up after their dogs and using leashes but some don’t. "

"I moved here a year ago. You can walk around Lake Murray and enjoy the scenery. We are 5 minutes from hikes at Mission Trails Park. Cowles Mountain is also close for hiking. Neighborhoods have a suburban vibe."

"I live here and I absolutely love it. Yes their are deer bunnies and the sounds of coyotes but it’s still very peaceful. Homeowners take pride in their property. "

"I live, work and play in San Carlos - 40 years now. I've always felt that this community was a best kept secret and a jewel of San Diego. We are so fortunate to have Mission Trails, including the local Cowles and Fortuna mtns. to climb and play in, and Lake Murray just a stroll or bike ride away. Wonderful people, wonderful place."

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter spent 7 years at Dailard from TK to 5th grade. We absolutely LOVED everything about the school! Wonderful teachers, extra classes that not all elementary schools have (art, music). Yes they push fundraising HARD and it gets annoying but that's what allows the school to have all these extra programs for children. Lots and lots of fun events and parent involvement. My daughter had a great experience at Dailard and loved going to school every day.Parent Review8mo ago23 Reviews - Green Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSense of community is amazing at this school. Parent involvement is better than I’ve ever experienced at any other school and it makes it so there are awesome experiences for kids to enjoy. PTO raises money for art program, music, field trips and extra money for classrooms. Teachers are hands on and engage their students and make learning exciting. Love this school!Other Review5mo ago14 Reviews
