"Dog owners would not like that there is not a lot of grass and lots of trash on the sidewalks. However, there are dog parks nearby that you can drive to."
  • Nicoflores1985
"Need lights on 54th street split from collwood ave. There’s been a lot of break-ins on the unlit hill."
  • Nicoflores1985
"No noteworthy community events worth mentioning.. it’s quite unfortunate to be honest, the area has a lot of potential and is due for a renaissance."
  • John.addleman
"We love the annual neighborhood block party, progressive dinners, happy hours, and block dinners that serve to bring the community together. Very special."
  • Mmcquade19
"I head east for my commute and I never hit traffic. The west bound lanes of the 8 are usually a parking lot. "
  • Mmcquade19
"We were not familiar with the area when we rented. It is primarily college students. The first year was horrible. So far this year has been quiet."
  • Mmcquade19
"Most homes are rented by college kids that have loud parties. They go late into the night all week long."
  • Kiersten C.
"Cool older neighborhood with lots of charm. Lived here for 17 years. Very walkable. City living with neighborhood feel."
  • Mmcquade19
"I commute to La Mesa so I never deal with Traffic, but the west bound 8 is a parking lot. The majority of houses are rented by college students, they are young and understandably want to have fun. I say leave the area to them. "
  • Christy N.
"The neighborhood itself seems very safe, but it is close to El Cajon Blvd, and there are regular tweakers roaming around down that road "
  • Dave
"There are not any walkable parks in the area, but it's a nice neighborhood overall. The hills make it difficult to walk around a lot with a stroller, unless you're up for a workout. "
  • Sarah S. H.
"Sweet neighbors, lots of families, grocery stores and amenities all within a mile or two. Lots of great new businesses coming to the neighborhood."
  • Randene O.
"I have lived here for over 20 years. I love this area and my neighbors. It is safe and I love the sound of children playing."
  • Rigrlkuhn

"CVE is "hidden gem" with no through streets it is quiet and extremely safe. Diverse and very friendly--people know their neighbors! CVE spring block party and fall progressive dinner. Hardy elementary excellent school --needn't cross any major streets to get there. Near bus and trolley. Access to SDSU opportunities. reduced rate for recreation center-- gyms, pools etc. "
  • Debusschere01
"Wonderful yards and climate featuring mid-century architecture; open beam ceilings and double garages. Great neighborhood pride and associations with block parties and progressive dinners. Transportation access is excellent; 20 minutes to airport, mission valley, quality schools, and the job. Multiple freeways and trolley. Low crime rate. "
