Hardy Elementary School

Language Academy is a unique gem. My daughter is in middle school and I love that it is more sheltered than a regular middle school-less behavioral issues and no drama, cliques. The kids have been together since Kindergarten and are pretty much fluent in their language at this point. My son is still in elementary and I love that he gets to rotate between teachers starting in 3rd grade. Another beneficial aspect of LA is the strong parent orgs which help fund more library support as well as garden, art, dance, world music, etc. I love the diversity that is celebrated here! Lunar New Year, Dia de Los Muertos, and the Multicultural fair. It really is a special school and the new principal is amazing! She brings a positive energy to campus.

Administration is focused on their pet programs with little attention or interest in kids needs or learning fundamentals.

Hearst has exceeded our expectations. The foundation, PTA, and parent community create a nurturing environment for learners of diverse abilities and backgrounds. The teachers are dedicated and innovative in their approach; our children feel supported, challenged, and have blossomed in this very special school. Most of all, they have FUN! You can see this by how they all run through the gates each day, saying “Good Morning” to Ms. Wendy, a staple of the Hearst Community. No school is perfect, but we feel confident that any issue that may arise will be addressed effectively.

I will be honest, I have been in the school for 8 years and the treatment there is really bad. The school has canceled many field trips and the school lunch is bad. This is a Muslim school and i'm not Muslim so I often get left out by the girls in my class they only come to me when they need something or they need help. The treatment is very bad There are a lot of fights and violence and the teachers don't do anything about it. The students are very rude and they are mean, they leave out students that are not Muslim ( me ) I feel really bad for that and I hate going to school because of it they only care about them. The school is very small and we have a lot of students and the equipment is very bad and not safe for the students. Don't trust people when they say that the school is good because it's not, so don't bring your child to this school. The thing that I would say is good is the teaching it is not that bad but it's not great.

It should be part of the San Diego Unified School District and better Moderate/severe and mild moderate classrooms and they have to have Para Independ Faclitator and Special Education Assistant and Special Education technician and the special education school must have permission to be in the district so they don’t have a hard time finding schools that have high/middle/elementary school and they don’t stress about finding it and so they can have more subs from the district and it’s kinda a good idea to have more teachers from the district and I would like this school in this SDUSD district and it should good to have permission from the district office to have it in their district and so they have a school bus picking them up from the district and parents wouldn’t have a hard time dropping them off and picking them up convenient and if they have a hard time at their own school the school clerk can enroll them into their school just enrolling my district information just like my elementary school enrolling their information :) easy for them
