Harvard Kent has always been an amazing community school that really embraces their student body and strives to give the kids a great education. There were some bumps in the road with principal changes over the last few years, but the current (and permanent) principal has proven to be a huge asset. He loves the students, has a vision and is making huge improvements to the school every day (curriculum, school spirit, activities, engagement etc). We have considered sending our kids elsewhere but feel extremely committed to the school for all of our children. And as always - the teachers at the Harvard Kent are truly the warmest, smartest people and our kids leave every day feeling so loved.

I honestly didn't like this school, people are mean and the staff too, sometimes they went to far.

This is the worst i have ever experienced in a learning environement. They have allowed other kids to beat my daughter without giving her any support. If you are looking for a school for your kids to feel unsafe be my guest and let your kids go there.

School is horrible and confusing. First off they allow the 6th grade math teacher to swear at the students, the specials program is super confusing it’s the same special for 4 months everyday And middle school isn't supposed to have the same special everyday. Bullying has became a daily problem at the school. Apparently the period programs are as confusing as the specials program. Because why do the students have double periods, its confusing like really. And the administration team has the absolute guts to blame you for the most wildest thing ever just because of they think you did something but they dont even let you explain from your side of the story. This school sets bad examples and they just like to do their own thing over there. I am mostly speaking for the middle school students, For kindergarten and elementary this school is Average but for middle school its just horrible.

The school is good fr learning but the food is a little bit below average school lunches : )

Excellent cirriculum and access to higher levels of academics. Majority of teachers are easy to communicate with and have rapid channels to speak within a reasonable timeline. Safety is the upmost importance and unfortunately, from personal experience, multiple kids feel unsafe and have been victims of conflict amongst their peers in alarming circumstances and at such a close distance from the school grounds. Currently policy has been allegedly to that both parties, the suspected attacker(s) and victim along with their parents will receive mass punishment from the school without legal precedence. These actions have been expressed by superintendent and principles alike, that theres is issues of understaff and opinions of other parents suspect that this is in the hope that the informal actions do not get disputed where formal process would have to begin only when legal actions are discussed agaonst the school. I would not recommend this school unless you are in a position to hold the administration accountable and ensure their upholding the standards. Every month theres something new where our kids and their friends are getting injured in some shape or fashion and currently is out of control. There are mentally disabled children amongst the kids that show irrational behavior towards them and do receive punitive action or extra guidance from the staff. Eventually this will lead to further injury for both staff and families.

My son has been at Perry for 5 years. Every teacher has been invested, caring, communicative, and demanding of the kids. Parents are all involved, friendly, and look out for each other’s children. Great outcomes have resulted! 10/10 school.

Man I used to go to this school and it was so bad to me, I used to get bullied and punished with my bullies

Some teachers are wonderful. It is NOT a school for high needs children although it says it is. Children do not receive the correct pull-outs for therapy according to their IEP's and the school is very hard to work with. I have had children on IEP's; this school outright lies through their director of SPED. They do not follow laws or regulations and my child is caught in the middle. His academics are well below average and they are telling me he's doing fine. No, he isn't. So if your child has any special needs, be forewarned.
