What Locals Say about Lindenwood

Review Highlights

Lindenwood delivers easy living—quiet, friendly blocks, handy buses, shops, and quick city access. People like the safety, walkability, Cross Bay eateries, and decent bus-to-subway commutes. They dislike scarce parking, few dog parks, pet limits, bus-to-train trips, and flood risk.

"That this neighborhood can be safe for families.... not just your kids playing outside but also going to the corner store "
  • Jessica
"Public transportation is available but limited. If you drive, there is very limited parking in walking distance by the evening hours."
  • Milagros Q.
"Grand openings tend to draw a crowd. Other than that restaurants are a nice place to stop by. There are many on cross bay"
  • Milagros Q.
"Not many dog park areas to allow dogs to roam freely. Many cooperatives in the areas limit number of pets."
  • James A.
"commute in my neighborhood is ok but people would like more ways to get to the train like more bus routes "
  • Shannon C.
"I’ve lived here for 5 years and everyone is very friendly and the schools are amazing as well. There a lot of places to eat in the area. The commute into the city is fast and Howard beach is close to the airport and many places to shop. Less than a 5 minute drive to multiple stores, restaurants, and supermarkets. Neighbors treat each other like family and we look out for each other. "

"It’s quite and a welcoming neighborhood. Friendly environment with good food to commute to late at night. Nice area to jog in. Running trail also nice in the summer time. "
  • Stephanie
"Ive lived in this neighborhood for 4 years and what makes this neighborhood unique is its location. It is close to transportation and has walking distance supermarket, banks, restaurant, pharmacy, cafe, liquor store and more everything you need in one location. School and park are also walking distance as well as religious buildings. It is away from the traffic noise but near the belt pkwy which 5 minutes away in car is the Gateway Center. Having access to all the necessities is a turn key for me."
  • Stephanie
"My commute is about 1 hr and 15 minutes to the city which consists of either the Q41 or the Q21 bus to the A train."

"The neighborhood has changed drastically, Howard Beach is not Howard beach anymore. Neighbors are moving out East or to the Hudson valley or out of state. Coastal flooding is a concern, and it’s priced the cheapest in Queens as a hole. Crime has risen, which never existed. "

"The commute is not that convenient. You have to take a bus to the train stations. But there are multiple bus lines that travel to the city."
  • Ayleen614
"They wouldn’t like that there isn’t a lot of dog park. But it’s quiet & a lot of friendly families around. "

"I love it. People are very nice .good schools, churches and safe community. European people and clean and nice streets. I live here like 5 years and will never want to go from. The price are little higher then other places but is understandably. New Howard Beach is amazing please to live. Old Howard Beach is by the bay most of the people here have their own bouts and businesses. Good doctors and even Emergensy close by."
