"Bud Biliken Parade, the car and boat shows are the only community event I’m aware of. Unfortunately more needs to happen in this area. I’m happy to finally see a decent grocery’s store such as Mariano’s. I heard a Pete’s grocery store is coming soon so I’m hopeful that some of these anchor stores will be an attraction for more retail businesses in the community. We shouldn’t have to depend on events at McCormick place."

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is okay. They need more parent engagement and activities. They used to do a lot of cool math and reading nights. They need a parent survey to see what we would like to see in our neighborhood school. If we don't do this, we are going to lose another good school and the last great teachers we have. There needs to be more student voice so we can say what we would like to see in OUR school. Who we want to see teaching our classes and what we would like to learn. Certain teachers can make a difference. We just want some things to change. Bring back our old teachers!!!Student Review4mo ago5 Reviews - Reavis Elementary Math & Sci Spec School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter entered Pre-K last year at Reavis. She has special needs and requires an ample amount of attention. I had my reservation about Reavis but it is my neighborhood school and wanted to have her someplace close to home. In her first year at Reavis PreK special education, my daughter went from a non-verbal, shy, and reserved little girl to an outgoing, verbal, and expressive student. She's eager to be at school and it's because of the attention she receives at Reavis. Specifically, from her Prek teacher, Mr. Shah. I can't speak for the other classes but my daughter had a terrific first year of school at Reavis and she was eager to go back.Parent Review6y ago2 Reviews - Woodson South Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHoly Angels is a very special school. Kind of a best kept secret because I didn't even know the school was still open until my friend told me. My daughter is a transfer student from Indiana and she did not want to leave her school, but I was looking for employment and had to move. I was in luck because I moved to the Bronzeville neighborhood and Holy Angels is within walking distance. The school staff is friendly and she loves her teacher and has made some new class friends. I ask her often if she likes it at Holy Angels and she says she does, so I'm glad I made the choice to send her to this school. The only downside is I wish they had more activities for the kids to do but other than that I'm happy.Parent Review3y ago15 Reviews - St Elizabeth
