Posted by a parent on 8/21/2025Overall, the school is a great place for a diverse group of students to come and learn. Teachers are quality and caring for students. There is a sense of security and community in the school that is lost in other big high schools.

The teacher and staff are amazing and helpful as well. While there was a lot of drama I was still learning very well and the staff and admin were incredibly helpful with those situations. Our daughters are being challenged and supported by top tier educators and counselors. I recommend the LVE Dual Language department to all of my friends. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLooking at the test scores for this school tells you a lot. My child required specialized services which the school always fought back on. Any complaint was met with resistance and retaliation. The staff became rude to me and we eventually left the school which is the best choice I could have made. My child was supposedly doing well and making As and Bs at Thornton even though he had trouble on his standardized testing. When he arrived at his new school he was so far behind and his teachers were shocked he had not received specialized services sooner.
