Read what parents are saying about Thornton Elementary SchoolI have absolutely loved our experience at Thornton! The administration, teachers, and staff are all so dedicated and I really feel like they care about my child. There are so many programs offered and my child has gained so much over her time at this school.

Posted by a community member on 3/20/2017The teachers here are the best my children have ever experienced. They show a lot of care and love for them. The community is also a great place to raise my family.
Posted by a parent on 7/6/2016My son has been in Thorton since kinder, I enjoyed both teachers kinder an first! When we hit second grade from week one my son an his teacher had problems an I as the mom stepped in for many meetings to help my son. Only to see as time went on that the communication with his teach was extremely poor. I too was having problems with her she was not as polite or organized as she should be when dealing with test homework or just everyday in an out paperwork between student parent an school. If I could upload pictures I have of notes an many rude dojo comments from her. I took my son out of that school today and couldn't be more happy about it! I got no results after meeting with vice principal either after a few times I decided this was a school me my family didn't think was good for my son or inpaticular the teacher an there was no change she just kept her ugly attitude and stop communicating period with us.
Posted by a parent on 2/22/2016This school literally tore my family apart. I have never been exposed to such detached uncaring disrespectful unprofessionalism. I share my experience after have been a teacher for underprivileged children and a teacher for first year English in college myself. My family has been devastated by seemingly endless thoughtless choices made by the school with no thought of the consequences that followed. The affliction that has been splashed upon us still reverberates daily like the loud clanging noise of a brass church bell being rung. I can't begin to describe the hoops I have had to jump through. How we were not even left with a shred of dignity. How inside out upside down our lives have had to become. How incredibly easy it has been for Thornton Elementary to remain detached, disrespectful, uncaring, and unapologetic. There are no more words to convey the damage this school has done to my family.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is in first grade here. With all the things I read about in the news regarding our nation's schools and the problems with bullying and violence, I had originally thought of homeschooling because I just dreaded her going to a public school. That all changed when we bought a house down the street from the school and I became pregnant and realized with newborns I would have no time to homeschool my daughter. After researching the school, I discovered that this school countered all my fears. It's safe, with safety as the number one priority. The learning environment is wonderful. My daughter is doing exceptionally well here and was put in the gifted learning program they offer, where she excelled even more. Her teachers are great, the principal is wonderful and very involved. I could not have imagined a better school to send my daughter to.Parent Review5y ago - Rhodes Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience has been the best. My children have attended 3 other elementary schools and based on our experience the teachers here are a lot more involved. That goes to show you how much they truly care for each and every student. Mrs farmer the third grade teacher at carnahan has truly exemplified the true meaning of a TEACHER. thanks to her approach and constant communication my child enjoys her class!Parent Review4y ago - Suburban School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was super awesome and I stayed here for 5 years cause it was just so awesome the students were great and super friendly, and the teachers super nice.I was skeptical at first but then it grew on me while enrolled at Brooks Oaks Academy. It will have a place in my heart always.seeing all of the students together was like one big party of all kinds of people from around the world and the best part was that the staff workers didn’t exclude them because of their ethnicity .The resources they had were great and never wasted stuff and had donations toward organizations.Other Review3mo ago
