Posted by a parent on 1/19/2024My son is finishing his 8th grade and I am very glad and satisfied with his academic a personal development. SLJH is one of the best Junior High School that I have known. They have a perfect balance between the academic and the arts.

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey keep changing the rules. I have had kids in this school since 2013 and they keep changing when I am allowed to eat with my kid. I am no longer allowed to drop off items when my child forgets them. A 10 year old is going to forget their lunch and I need to drop it off. Yes, she can buy lunch but the food there is inedible and hurts her stomach. 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to pick up my niece and i forgot my sign and when i told them that i was on the emergency contact list they said they still couldn't give me a sign but they gave my brother in law a sign even thoe he wasnt on the emergency contact list . 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWay too easy. Courses are not challenging enough. One boy stole my daughter's things from her backpack and did so to other kids. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Teachers yelled at her if she did not cross her arms and hold a "bubble" in her mouth. She had to call me with the school phone if she did something terrible, but all she did was raise her hand. Planning to enroll her in a better school.
