Obra D Tompkins High School

They keep changing the rules. I have had kids in this school since 2013 and they keep changing when I am allowed to eat with my kid. I am no longer allowed to drop off items when my child forgets them. A 10 year old is going to forget their lunch and I need to drop it off. Yes, she can buy lunch but the food there is inedible and hurts her stomach. Katyisd should serve better food to our kids based off of the amount of taxes that we pay.

Rylander elementary is a great school! Every teacher pre-k - 5th is so sweet!! Every student is treated so nicely. All the teacher have been for every stage for there students.I will definitely recommend Rylander Elementary!

We are only on day two at Griffin, so I can’t yet speak to the full academic year, but our experience leading up to school and during these first days has absolutely been five stars. Our child transferred from another Katy ISD school specifically for Griffin’s ASIP program, and the transition and special education support have been exceptional. Staff took the time to understand his individual needs, accommodations, and safety needs before he even started. His teachers and support staff have been kind, patient, experienced, and incredibly welcoming. We were especially nervous about how he would adjust. He had struggled with and strongly disliked several of his summer camps and therapies, and he had shown very little excitement about starting school. When he stepped off the bus after his very first day, the first thing he said was, “Today was great!” For our family, that was a huge win and spoke volumes about the environment the staff created for him.Family engagement has also stood out. At the first-day Tears & Cheers gathering, administrators personally introduced themselves and spent time talking with parents. There is a genuine sense that families are viewed as partners. We have also met many expat and Houston-transplant families who researched schools and specifically chose Griffin. It is too early for us to fairly evaluate long-term academics, but everything we have seen regarding teaching, special education, social-emotional support, safety, and family involvement has given us tremendous confidence in our choice of Griffin.

I went to pick up my niece and i forgot my sign and when i told them that i was on the emergency contact list they said they still couldn't give me a sign but they gave my brother in law a sign even thoe he wasnt on the emergency contact list . Hes white im mexican and i never pull the race card but the way the teachers were looking at me and asked my neice if she knew me felt like they were racially profiling me . its just crazy to me how these people can give someone a sign to pick up a kid from the school and they arent even on the emergency list but when a brown man ask for it they have a problem .

We have been at Stanley since it has opened! I have a daughter that has gone through the entire system of Stanley, SLJH and then SLHS and now have kids currently at Stanley. This school has been so good for our kids and their education has thrived here. Teachers genuinely care about the kids and having one that is 504 he has been through the sped program and has done amazing and has placed master level on the staar test! Kids are sweet and lots of parent involvement with volunteering and thriving PTA! This is a great school!
