Read what parents are saying about Cannon Elementary SchoolMy daughter has been at Cannon for five years and loves it. We have been more than impressed with the STEM program and the dedication of every staff member to STEM. While there was some turnover with the new leadership, overall the school has continued to thrive.
Posted by a parent on 3/5/2022Cannon is no longer the school it was under Mrs. B. There has been a huge turnover of experienced teachers, many who have left because of the new administrator. First year teachers replace the 20-23 teachers that left last year. No one is addressing this gaping problem.
Posted by a parent on 1/16/2022We do love our cannon elementary family.
Posted by a parent on 5/1/20193 of my kids have been to Cannon (one currently in 5th grade). They love the school, the environment, teachers and staff. I've see the improvement in the school over the past few years and I have to say the present STEM program is awesome! Great leadership by Ms. Blizzard and the dedicated teachers and staff make it a great place.
Posted by a parent on 5/18/2017Cannon is a school that both of my children have loved going to. There are SO MANY opportunities to do extra curricular activities such as design club, robotics, choir, etc. Since when did an elementary school have offerings like that. When I was a kid you didn't get that until HS. The principal and most of the teachers are top notch. As a father I can visit the school anytime through the Watch Dogs program and visit with my son to see how he's doing whenever I want. All I can say is that this is one of the best school in an already stellar school district. Since this is a magnet STEM school many people in the area scramble to get their kids in here. The student to teacher ratio is pretty low and my child gets a lot of attention. If you are in doubt about the program and staff of the school then do yourself a favor and make an appointment to visit with the principal. You'll be impressed by what they have going on here.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was being bullied since kinder and the counselor doesn't do anything the kid that bullied my son pushed him in recess and broke his hand and the school didn't even know how to explain and nobody cares about it. I called plenty of times to speak with the principal about it but nobody called me back. The school is very organized and they have too many students in one classroom. The teacher doesn't have the patience to teach. I being wanting to move but my contract is not up yet is so frustrating I want to cry every day.Parent Review2y ago - Silver Lake Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended here as a child and was bullied mercilessly, by students and staff as well. This was years ago so things may have changed but considering what I hear from current parents of students with learning differences I doubt that highly.I was diagnosed at Silver Lake with several learning “disabilities”. The special needs services I received here may have helped me to learn well enough to get through school and graduate, but the long term effect they had and continue to have on my self esteem has been negative and damaging! If your child receives services here for any kind of learning disability do NOT allow them to attend ARD meetings. The language used in these meetings is extremely psychologically damaging and will create within your child a sense of self that is not accurate.I was told that I would always struggle with reading and spelling. I have since gone on to work in NYC at one of the largest publishing houses in the country. Reading is now one of my favorite activities but during my childhood, while attending this school, I hated reading because of the way I was treated by teachers and the way I was taught to read.Parent Review2y ago - Grapevine Faith Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you child is pretty, looks like and athlete then this is the place to be. If you like your child to be bullied, body shamed, abused …best place to be.If you work there your child will be able to bully others to the point of wanting not to live anymore. If you want to be part of team where the coaches string your child along and then don’t play them because they don’t look the part…this is the perfect school. This school will take someone perception of a situation and automatically assume your child’ is guilty of something that is is made up…Buttoned line…avoid at all cost, not with the money…learn from our mistake…Parent Review1mo ago - Holy Trinity Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kid had the worst school experience in that place. It has good teachers, but one of them (the one that gave him classes every day) was very, very xenophobic. I thought I was leaving my kid in a safe place, where xenophobia would not happen (considering it is a religious environment), but it was completely the opposite. Some kids are xenophobic too. In our country, my son used to come back home with a big smile on his face. When I was picking him up at Holy Trinity I never knew what I would wait for. One day a teacher mistreating him, another day a kid mistreating him…and more than one day I had my kid crying inside the car. Every time I remember what we passed during his period at that school, I cry. I feel guilty for causing such trauma in my kid. Thank God we found the perfect school for him, the one that he goes and comes back everyday with a big smile on his face, where he was welcome since the first day. He is listened, respected, understood, and can be himself again. If you are an immigrant, and your company can afford to pay a private school, don’t put your kid in that place. Public schools are more used and prepared to receive a foreign student. This place, for sure, no.Parent Review6mo ago
