Silver Lake Elementary School

This school has been great until we got to Christina "Tina" Lemonds. My son has never had any problems before her and always been a star student with the other teachers. He is very shy, quiet, reserved and doesn't lash out or speak much. He constantly tells me the rude things she tells the class one of them being "I don't get paid enough for this" among other insults to students and how she makes them cry all the time.The corona virus policy here is a joke. My son has been sent home twice because of possible infected corona virus students yet other students are still going to the class. He's had to 10 day quarantine twice now because he was picked by the teacher to be next to that other student. My older son in another grade sleeps right next to him every night but yet he's still allowed to go. How does that make sense?Online learning? It doesn't work half of the time.Thanks for ruining my kids education so far.

The teachers are mostly inexperienced new hires because there’s been a mass exodus by experienced teachers due to lack of support, undermining, bullying, and humiliation of them by the current principal, TG. Poor administrator. Lack of support. To say this is a school that’s above average would be misleading, when children can pass the STAAR with 35% and at least more than half don’t meet standards. Disappointing.

We were at a prior christian private school for 10 years and without a doubt Grapevine Faith follows through with their commitments to each student and family. We have seen a transformation in our child that is God lead and fostered by the amazing relationships he has made with his peers, coaches and teachers! We are bringing our daughter over in the fall and she is so excited to be a lion!
