Read what parents are saying about Dove Elementary SchoolThis school has been great until we got to Christina "Tina" Lemonds. My son has never had any problems before her and always been a star student with the other teachers. He is very shy, quiet, reserved and doesn't lash out or speak much. He constantly tells me the rude things she tells the class one of them being "I don't get paid enough for this" among other insults to students and how she makes them cry all the time. The corona virus policy here is a joke. My son has been sent home twice because of possible infected corona virus students yet other students are still going to the class. He's had to 10 day quarantine twice now because he was picked by the teacher to be next to that other student. My older son in another grade sleeps right next to him every night but yet he's still allowed to go. How does that make sense?Online learning? It doesn't work half of the time. Thanks for ruining my kids education so far.
Posted by a parent on 4/7/2021I have loved every interaction we have had with the professionals at Dove and the Dove community. They have made a huge impact on our family.
Posted by a parent on 5/5/2020My child is happy at Dove Elementary - there's never a problem with going to school. His academic results are good, he has nice friends. I think he will look back fondly on his years at the school.
Posted by a parent on 12/15/2019Awful. My heart hurts knowing that the leaders at this school have little, if any, love for students. I taught for 20 years. They make me embarrassed to admit I taught. They are the reason so many people think you become a teacher because you couldn’t handle a real job.
Posted by a parent on 10/24/2019My child's 1st grade teacher was amazing, however the kindergarten teacher he has the year prior as well as the rest of the school staff ONLY communicated with me when they had something negative to say about my child. A typical, overcrowded public school. I never felt a sense of "community" and the principal Mrs. Landrum never smiled or greeted me as a parent during the time my son was there. I'm now looking for a charter school that really tends to each child, CARES, and has far less bullying and large crowds

This was years ago so things may have changed but considering what I hear from current parents of students with learning differences I doubt that highly.I was diagnosed at Silver Lake with several learning “disabilities”. The special needs services I received here may have helped me to learn well enough to get through school and graduate, but the long term effect they had and continue to have on my self esteem has been negative and damaging! If your child receives services here for any kind of learning disability do NOT allow them to attend ARD meetings. The language used in these meetings is extremely psychologically damaging and will create within your child a sense of self that is not accurate.I was told that I would always struggle with reading and spelling. I have since gone on to work in NYC at one of the largest publishing houses in the country. Reading is now one of my favorite activities but during my childhood, while attending this school, I hated reading because of the way I was treated by teachers and the way I was taught to read.Parent Review2y ago - Grapevine Faith Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you child is pretty, looks like and athlete then this is the place to be. If you like your child to be bullied, body shamed, abused …best place to be.If you work there your child will be able to bully others to the point of wanting not to live anymore. If you want to be part of team where the coaches string your child along and then don’t play them because they don’t look the part…this is the perfect school. This school will take someone perception of a situation and automatically assume your child’ is guilty of something that is is made up…Buttoned line…avoid at all cost, not with the money…learn from our mistake…Parent Review1mo ago - Katie Parr Music Academy
