Posted by a parent on 4/22/2019My daughter is going to start first grade in the fall and I've only had great experiences with Hillcrest. I was really involved with the PTA and I volunteered in her class 3 days a week so I was in the school almost everyday. I've been able to chat a little with more then just my daughter's teacher and only came back with positive feelings. There are some amazing teachers there. My daughter's teacher was Mrs. Jamison for kindergarten. She was an amazing teacher, she had so much patience and love of teaching. I also love this school because my daughter is very gifted in reading and they are making sure she is challenged. Hillcrest is a great school with great teachers and staff.
Posted by a parent on 7/31/2015Kids get rated and are informally tier into two groups, second group has questionable educators. Of the three years my son was enrolled two of the teacher attended part time. The first took time off to continue her education during the day while she was supposed to be teaching. The principal called it a special program (two days a week?) She should have been part time. Get your masters on your own time like the rest of us! The second and worst teacher bounced around the district and landed here for a year. Between being out sick she would also be on a special program. She was not attentive to children and we couldn t get any real understanding of what the expectation and assignments were. My wife has asked to volunteer a couple of time and the teacher would never set a date for her to help. The Principal make excuse about absent teacher issue and she has nothing to say. It has been two years now since we pull our son out of this school and have never been happier he is starting to excel and is becoming a leader in his class despite what his former elementary teacher has said!
Posted by a parent on 5/21/2011My daughter is in the third grade and currently enrolled at Hillcrest as part of the CAP (Crestwood Accelerated Program) . She has a wonderful teacher who (in my opinion) is wholly committed to happiness and success of her students. My daughter loves attending school at Hillcrest, and has LOVED every teacher she has had thus far. In our experience, the principle is quick to resolve any issues with a fair but no-nonsense approach, that as a parent, I totally appreciate! I couldn't feel more confident about my childs' well being and safety when sending her off to school in the morning!!! Also, they have a wonderful parent group (PACT) that is constantly providing new programs and events to offer ways to further enhance the kids school experience, as well as organizing interesting fund-raising events for the school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am an alumni, I went to Westside Christian Academy from 6th to 12th grade. I enjoyed the unique small classes and school settings. I received the attention needed to succeed throughout my educational path. One thing that is awesome about this school is that it gives us biblical principles in a way that can be used in real life situations. The support that the staff gives at WCA is amazing, for most children it is the feeling of family and community that helps develop them to led a successful life. I wish that the experience that is shared at Westside could be available all throughout the world. If you have the opportunity to send your child there Do it! Invest into your childs future. -LorettaOther Review7y ago - St Anselm Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe thing is, this place is great, but it's not like the #1 place. Place is connected to church, way better than my old one, but they're currently trying to make a play, and forcing me to sing a solo I don't want to do. Overall, not that bad.Student Review4mo ago - Det World Outreach Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been sending our children to St. Linus since our first of three was in preschool. The teachers have all been very good especially for preschool and kindergarten. The environment is one of academic excellence, development of virtues and moral values and spiritual growth and development. I was not thrilled with one of the former principals. She let politics be involved in certain decisions and conflict resolution. She forced our sun to apologize to another student when my son did nothing wrong. Good riddance to that principal.St. Linus outperforms other schools in the area on standardized testing and gets higher marks than most schools in Michigan. Your children actually learn as opposed to being indoctrinated. Teachers keep parents updated on their child's development and learning. And are especially helpful if your child is under performing or struggling in a particular area.We have always been welcome and felt welcomed at school events. I'm not the most outgoing guy. Many parents (including my wife) and teachers make it their goal to get to know everyone at these functions.Tuition rates are reasonable and there are multi-child discounts.St. Linus is a great school.Parent Review4mo ago
