5 stars! HHA is a gem of a school. Outstanding community that cares about its kids.

My son was bullied, traumatized and physically abused at this school, and several teachers knew about everything he was put through and just turned a blind eye, and at one point even purposefully brushed an attack on my son under the rug and wasn't even going to call me and tell me. My son was verbally abused and threatened on a regular basis and at one point I finally had to call the police and file a report and remove my son from the school.Teachers are lazy, complacent, and just plain BAD at their jobs. Do not send your child to this school.

This year, Highlandtown 237 got a new principal. It’s been a nightmare for staff (and students) from the first day. He is verbally abusive, retaliatory to an extreme, petty, completely clueless about education, and seems to dislike children. This is the kind of principal that I thought only lived in a fictional realm. He is truly horrible. A lot of staff is leaving. Anyone considering taking their place should run far and fast.

My child had too many Awful experiences at this school. I had to get my child transferred. The administration is weak and let's the students do whatever they want.

The staff are incredibly friendly and work hard to ensure the needs of students and families are met. Systemic policies often interfere with early interventions initiated by classroom teachers.
